Hit Songs where the Original Performance was Filmed

Some were synced, but look at the live version of Purple Rain with the line "I know, I know times are changing" and tell me that's not the version that was on the album.

The live recordings were made on 3rd August 1983 at First Avenue.

Editing/overdubs at Sunset Sound finished in September '83.

Filming began November '83.

 

I clearly stated that it was the version that was on the ALBUM, not in the film.

 

Clear as mud

All the concert performances in Purple Rain are mimed (or "synced").

 

Of course they are. But they came from the live recording made at the earlier concert. You really have a problem, or else you're just trolling.

 

Sorry for any confusion - when you said "Some were synced, but..." I took it to mean that what followed (the "Purple Rain" performance) was an exception.

Maybe it's a semantics issue - I read "synced" to mean "lip-synched" (mimed).



Edit: now I see - you mean some were lip-synched to live recordings while others were lip-synched to studio recordings. Apologies once again, I'm a bit slow on the uptake sometimes (neurological problems)
