I've had this on Criterion Blu-ray (no bronzing, thankfully) for almost 2 years, finally watched it last night.
Excellent movie, the storyline and feel of the film did not seem dated at all considering it came out 66 years ago.

:agree:.... and the single screen theatres where 'X' and 'R' films thrived were gradually going away in favour of multiplexes.

Last night's double feature started out with the new BD of UHF. I like silly movies! This film has the stamp of the 80's on it's forehead. Then, I skipped ahead to the 90's for Basic Instinct for some adult entertainment. I can still recall my mom wailing about how filthy, bad this film was after she and daddy saw it in the cinema.

'Begin Again' with Keira Knightly and Mark Ruffalo. Nice little NYC flick about people making music tangled up with love/life relationships. I thought it was fun and worth watching.

Last night's flick was The Great Train Robbery with Sean Connery and Donald Sutherland. It was OK-ish. This morning's movie was The Hurricane with Denzel Washington.... Denzel morphs into this character so deftly as he's done so well and so often in his career. Still, this is a great performance.....even by Denzel's high standards, IMO.
