    Anyone see tonight's first episode?

Yes. I like it. Gemma Chan as Anita is both spectacular to look at and effectively creepy in the uncanny-valley kind of way. Also good to see Katherine Parkinson (heh, from The IT Crowd) again.

Interesting show. I'll stick with the show for a bit to see where it goes.

Makes me wonder if these home robots will come to be during my lifetime.

Liked it, GF did as well. Looking forward to the next episode to see where they go. Hopefully not where everyone else has gone before.

Very promising beginning! And nice to see Colin Morgan in a role that requires a bit more finesse than "Merlin."

A very Phil Dickian show, and that's a good thing.

If they start to jump back and forth between the past, present, and future too much....I'm out. So far, it is not a problem.

This seems to be the new thing to do in shows - jump back and forth in time. Personally, I don't like it.

Synths, or human anatomically correct androids, are commonplace 'appliances' which are routinely used to perform various functions: from work around the home to being medical care providers for the elderly or disabled to sex workers, etc. There are various generations of these synths, with the older ones being more robotic and less capable cognitively.

The basic theme is how the synths are treated by society and how a particular synth (with a mysterious background) affects the already shaky family dynamics of a particular family, along with some intrigue about self-awareness and the struggle for freedom among a handful of renegades.

Haven't investigated but this sounds a lot like Real Humans; the Swedish TV show from a few years ago. It was very good

Yes, it is "based" on "Real Humans."

Interesting episode last night. The pace seemed to pick up a bit too. There is now one of the bots on the loose.

Yep, it does pick up pace, especially from ep3 with some interesting developments in ep4...

I am not sure what episode they are playing on TV but I have watched the first 2 episodes on the AMC website. I did record it to the DVR the other night but deleted it after I watched it on AMC.com so now I am wondering if I deleted episode 3.

DVRd this past Sunday's mini-marathon of three episodes. Just watched the first installment last night, very intriguing. Will stick with it for the time being. John Hurt doesn't...well, hurt!

The near-t0-the-end moment was a bit graphic, which doesn't bother me, but I can't help but think TV shows are getting more riske while movies are getting cartoonish. I have no real theory on why that is, but am straight up guessing that the more mature audiences are staying home and not going to movies at the theatres, and the theatres are where the kids go. Just a hunch...

I have noticed that some shows on A&E and AMC have more adult language in them not found on the major networks. Fine by me...doesn't bother me a bit. I agree that some of the shows - Humans, Halt and Catch Fire, Bates Motel, etc. - on these networks are aimed at more mature audiences.

That's pretty much it. Who'da thunk it that the idiot tube is turning into the thinking man's tube and the theater into a childcare center! :D

The show remains consistently good as it continues to ramp up the stakes.

Last nights episode was good. No spoilers here, but Joe seems to be in a hurry to get rid of Anita! And Niska is proving to be one tough synth.

Absolutely loving this show. Last night's episode was crucial. The theme of alienation runs deep, with humans as strangers to one another, while the bots are attempting to unify. One of the best TV shows I've seen in a while.
