Wether you like it or not, this is hip-hop. Welcome to 2015.

Stop with the liberal non-sense. It's not Hip-Hop according to my opinion. You think whatever you think it is but most people that are into Hip-Hop would not classify it as actual Hip-Hop. Hip-Hop is a distinctive genre in my eyes and that definitely doesn't fall into it.

To me it's just some experimental Bjork-like song with bits of Hip-Hop elements but I would not consider that as actual Hip-Hop.

I had no idea who Daoko was and I have no knowledge of Japanese hip hop, but yeah, it is hip hop. You can't just look at hip hop as an American phenomenon. It's global. And each scene puts its own spin on it; it's own flavours and different elements. That's always how hip hop has been. Why would you expect Japanese hip hop to sound like, I don't know, West Coast hip hop? That's what is so cool about hip hop.

Sports (Basketball) lovers will get it.

Hank Gathers, Len Bias, trying to make it in this game but n****s die trying
Giving up takes more effort than trying
Aaliyah told me, brush yourself off and try again

My post was no joke. I bought Vanilla Ice's "Too the Extreme" in early 1991, and enjoyed it. It's filled with catchy, cocky songs, which is what I like in pop music generally. I always thought that back then he was the victim of an immense amount of jealous hating.

Was he the most talented rapper? Of course not. Did he lie and exaggerate about his background? Sure. But in both those regards, that makes him utterly ... like tons of other rappers throughout history. He didn't deserve the sheer volume of mocking and vitriol he was subject to.

I'm not much of a Hip Hop fan, but did anyone really think 50 cent was a good rapper?
I always thought he was a bit of a scam..

  24. Ice Ice Baby is still one of the most important hip-hop songs in history due to its sheer popularity and mainstream appeal. It was an anthem for a certain generation.

Yes, IIRC, it was the first rap song to make it to #1 on the Billboard pop chart.
