I'm going to go out on a limb, and say I think Flowers is going to be great. With all the great bonus content, I'm going to be real excited about this!

I've thought of something to add!

Nothing against FITD, but this is the first time I've been disappointed by an upcoming Archive release.. Never thought for a minute it would be next up..

    Someone's having a laff. ;)

I need Wild Life and Red Rose Speedway (hoping for a RRS remix). But if and when FITD is ever released and if it includes the McCartney/MacManus demos in versions not available elsewhere, I'm all in.

If this turns out to be true, then I'm a little disappointed that they're not pairing it with Off the Ground, but I understand why. On the bright side, even if this reissue turns out to be a disappointment for fans, at least this album will be given undivided attention and remind people of how good it is. All personal opinion, of course. ;)

If this is confirmed, it will be the first Archive series of an album I remember first hand (it was the first release after I became a "proper" Macca fan), so I'm going to love this one.

Summer of 1989, 17 years old and just passed my driving test, cruising around poor quality East Yorkshire tourist destinations with my window down and "Put It There" blasting like a mofo from my Ford Escort. Happy days :D

I do think there is some potential for an interesting release here: the demo/duets with Costello, hopefully some outtakes, less "produced" versions of songs, maybe that Put It There video as a bonus...

The downside to me is that there's only one listed. As if this thing wasn't moving slowly enough already. Like many others, I would've expected pairing this with Off The Ground, as many of the same musicians are involved.

I'm just imagining the disappointed faces of the Macca haters on the board as they see this new thread and the Tug Of War/Pipes Of Peace perennial vying for top spot on page 1 for the next month

Let's hope it's an early 2016 treat. Maybe this is a change of strategy and it's thought there is a benefit in releasing them individually (but hopefully more frequently) in future?

Yeah, I like the album and the extra material and DVD should be great.

It's just that it feels newish to me and there were a lot more albums I'd have preferred in it's place. And yes, only one release is an extra kick in the old testes!

That said, I'll get over it.:D

It will have taken longer for FITD to get an Archive release, than it took Please Please Me to get a release on CD!

Elvis Costello has mentioned on multiple occasions that he would love to see the demos released. So would I, as it turns out.

That reminded me of something I heard on TV or radio a few weeks ago - "The mid point chronologically between the end of World War II and now, was Going Underground by The Jam being number 1 !" :yikes:

I'm fine with this. It's not a weak album by any means and some of the B-sides are top-notch ("Flying to My Home" :righton:)

I wouldn't be stunned if they save some of the Costello demos for a potential Off The Ground set. Which would be a shame, both because "The Lovers That Never Were" is probably the best demo in the bunch, but they were all (as far as we know) recorded at the same time, and I'd like a set like this to accurately present that history.

But Going Underground was only #1 about 18 months ago, wasn't it?:D
