It didn't make sense to keep talking about SmugMug when it is no more... Now that our beloved SmugMug is no more, we're moving the show to this place:

    http://www.vinylalbumcovers.com

Special thanks to @Grant and all the various contributors over the years for the labels and to @Grant for archiving so much of the site. This wouldn't be possible without him.

I'm already well into the "C"'s and work continues. The next post will get into further progress!

All Casablanca labels have been added. No major work done to any of them. I hesitated to add the Casablanca Warners detective but I don't have another one to improve it and it's such an oddity that I can't bear to not include it.

    Here goes the next batch

    CBS UK - Nothing.

CBS Quad Japan - Slightly lightened the black half-square at the top to differentiate it from the background. Black has shades. Some of these labels are really flat black so this is necessary sometimes.

CBS Masterworks Grey/Orange - Removed debris from black areas.

CBS Magic Sound - Increased contrast slightly and removed debris from black areas.

CBS "Hall of Fame" Canada 45 - Replaced all white areas with black.

CBS Magic Sound 2 - Increased contrast slightly and removed debris from black areas.

CBS Magic Sound 3 - Increased contrast slightly and removed debris from black areas.

CBS Associated - Increased contrast slightly and removed debris from black areas.

Cash - Put label on a new black background because of inconsistencies on the original.

*Chess '70's label is not presentable. I'll do another

Chess Hi-Fi Black - Slightly lightened the label.

Chess Blue/Grey - Put label on a new black background because of inconsistencies on the label and the background of the original.

Chess black label - Slightly lightened the label and placed on new black background.

Chess MCA - Cleaned up black areas.

Chess All Platinum - Cleaned up black areas.

Chess 45 1964 - Filled center hole and fixed overall color.

    Chelsea - Nothing

Chelsey Yellow/Red/Purple - Increased sharpness and fixed black areas.

Checker 45 - Replaced by another one I found.

Checker LP - Increased color saturation slightly.

Charisma Buddah - Cleaned up black areas.

    Chancellor - Nothing.

Challenge - Slightly lightened to contrast with black areas.

Checker Maroon 45 - I added this one.

Chess Black and white promo 45 - I added this one.

Chrysalis Blue & White - Had to alter this as to make a circle. The right side was cut off. The grain is what it is, unfortunately. Put label on a black background.

Chrysalis White - Put label on a black background. I was given two copies of this and there was one that looked a thousand times better so I went with it.

Chrysalis Blue & White w/ Copyright - Had to alter this as to make a circle. The right side was cut off. The grain is what it is, unfortunately. Put label on a black background.

Chrysalis White promo - Put label on a black background.

Chrysalis Green - Put label on a black background.

Chocolate City - Cleaned up debris in black areas. This is another one I had two copies of. One was great, the other really bad.

Chiswick - Put label on a black background.

Chimneyville - Put label on a black background and performed color correction on the white areas and lettering of the label.

Chi-Sound - Brightened black areas of the label very slightly so it would stand out from background.

    ----

That's it for now. I'll do many more tomorrow...:)

    And more...

Chimneyville - Per @Grant, I fixed this one as I had the color wrong. I thought it had yellowed with age and it hadn't. That's just how it was supposed to look. I did remove it's original run-off grooves and add it to a new black background as to eliminate debris.

Colpix - Removed debris from black background.

    Colossus - Nothing.

    Colossus 2 - Nothing.

    Collectables 45 - Nothing.

Collectables black - Put it on a new background as to eliminate debris.

    Collectables pink - Nothing.

    Colgems - Nothing.

Colgems Red/white - Put in on a new black background.

Cobblestone - Made background absolutely black.

Clouds - Removed light debris from background.

I'm on the Columbia labels at the moment and some of them are over-corrected. They got color-washed and the text is affected. GAH! All the adventures! I can't use any of the ARC's as a result of this.

There is also a rose-colored Columbia label from the '90's that's been over-lightened and I'm not sure what the intended color is. I darkened it but it doesn't look like any I've ever seen.

Just added all the Columbia labels. I was in a rhythm and wanted to get them done so I didn't notate all the cleaning I did. I remember the Columbia Quad was totally off-center and it was a bear to fix it. I placed many on new black backgrounds to eliminate debris. I re-colored absolutely nothing as usual.

Curtom Yellow 45 - I put this on a brand new background.

Curtom Warner - I put this on a brand new background.

Grant Life is a rock, but the radio rolled me!

That 90s Columbia was correct as was, but there were variations of it. I know, because I did that one too. So the one you did was also OK.

Good job cleaning up that early 70s Columbia 45 with the rows of the word Columbia" on it. It's the best we're gonna get unless someone wants to try doing a new one

In fact, several Columbia labels look better now.

    On to "D":

De-Lite blue - The one from SmugMug was small and flawed so I did a new one.

De-Lite black single - Placed it on a black background and slightly lightened the label to make it stick out a bit from the background.

DCP - That one must have taken forever to do. All the copying and pasting of the initials must have driven whoever did it absolutely nuts. Very nice work. Did absolutely nothing to it.

Date - Nothing done. Small but it's well done.

Date black - Placed it on a black background and slightly lightened the label to make it stick out a bit from the background.

Dash - Removed "not" and placed it on a black background.

Dash green - Placed it on a black background to eliminate the debris in the run-off area. I also sharpened it a bit.

Dark Horse many heads - I added this.

Dark Horse 45 - Placed it on a black background.

    Dakar - Removed "not".

Dakar black - Placed it on a black background and slightly lightened the label to make it stick out a bit from the background.

    Dial black/white/red - Nothing.

    Dial 1967 - Nothing.

Dial reverse - I added this one myself.

Dial pinwheel - Filled in the spindle hole with black.

Deutsche Grammophon - Cleaned up run-off areas.

*There is another DG label but it's absolutely tiny and rough so I didn't work on it. It looks much like the one I've already worked on so no big loss, really.

Destiny - Great label. Nothing done.

Deram Deramic Sound - Nothing done.

Deram U.S. - Placed on a black background.

    Deram U.S. 45 - Placed on a black background.

Deram stereo - Placed on a black background.

Deram LP - Eliminated debris from run-off area.

Deluxe 45 - Placed on a black background to remove debris from run-off area. I also completed the label as the lines were never joined and debris remained on the label.

Grant Life is a rock, but the radio rolled me!

I'm going to increase the gamma a tad.

I did it. I was very careful to copy/paste the "dcp" section by section. It took a long time to make it look solid.

Nice! I think I did the originals. Yours are better.

I did that one and it took a loooong time!

I didn't do that one, but I believe it was a reconstruction.

The De-Lite label is as you see it. I cleaned the one I had but the color is dead on based on what I had. Actually, it's pretty much a reconstruction a la Graham. Only the logo remains from the one I used. I'll leave this one alone on the site.

Impressive work. I've got a DJ 45 of DCP and I'll do it tomorrow.

    Elektra white promo - Nothing.

    Elektra musician - Removed "not".

Elektra 99 LP - Adjusted color and darkened to match the real 99 label.

    Elektra 45 US 75 - Nothing.

Elektra 45 45 - Nothing. I don't like the way it look as it's been over-corrected. Whoever did it was very heavy-handed with the paint bucket. Can't fix so just have to live with it.

Elektra Red/Black '80's - Placed label on a new black background to avoid the debris on the run-off area.

Electoral HMV 45 - Cleaned up debris in run-off area. Another one that's been paint-bucketed too harshly.

Elektra white 80's - Resized label to something smaller as it was artificially enlarged creating a very blurry image. Sharpened the result as well to undo as much of the blurriness as I could.

Uh...which one? There are several Elektra 45s.

Actually, it should be darker. Someone's monitor was set too dark, or gamma must've been off on the monitor. But, that's the way the lettering looks.

The lettering is jagged and the logo really takes a hit unfortunately. Paint bucketing is very dicey and I try to avoid doing it whenever possible. The bucket really got the logo badly.

I re-did the Electrola based on one I had. It's actually brighter. I know now definitively that the paint bucket was too heavy-handed one the one from the site.

The Electrola 45 I have is darker and had the lettering issue.

I didn't actually have the Elektra 45 shown. It was a raw scan taken from another member.

EMI Old Gold - Removed debris from run-off area.

EMI Black - Placed on new black background.

EMI Green 45 - Someone went overboard with the paint bucket so the copyright text looks as it does. I re-did all the text and put the whole thing on a new black background.

EMI Green LP - Much better condition. Just placed on a new black background.

EMI HMV Greensleeves - Not in great shape. Just put on a new black background.
