So if we believe IMDB the show isn't doing the real time thing?

As a former reluctant fan of 24, zero interest in this reboot. Everthing after the President Logan season was unnecessary.

That's pretty much what the critics are saying. Same old tropes, same old situations, only the faces have changed. The best that could be said of the original is that Kiefer managed to make it work for a while by dint of personality and screen presence, but even so it outstayed its welcome. So meh, I'm not going to bother...

    Anyone watch the first episode?

A friend with ties to the production said there are big issues off screen--in the writers' room, chemistry between the leads, etc.

I just can't be bothered. The show should have continued with Yvonne Strahovski as the lead....fans liked her character and it would have been interesting to have a female lead in that kind of role.

I did. I'm recording tonight's episode but it's gonna be a steep hill to climb to keep me interested after that if it doesn't improve. I had no issues with any of the previous seasons of 24; for all of its flaws it had characters that made me want to watch the next episode.

But the first episode of this Legacy reboot was awful. Bad writing, bad acting, bad casting. And no interesting characters thus far.

I enjoyed it more than I expected. Same old ridiculous "24" but maybe like the "X-Files" I'm feeling some nostalgia about it. I'm not committing to the whole season but I will at least watch Episode 2 tonight.

Jimmy Smits looks terrible to me.

I've read reviews that absolutely savaged it for its recklessness and idiocy.

So you've got this lone nut threatening to sell the USB to the bad guys, and I suppose one way to go would be to use all of CTUs resources to track him down. Or you could agree to pay the ransom by breaking into a police station and stealing millions from a drug haul. Yeah, that's the ticket. Then there's the nerdbomb and princessbj who are beyond hilarious. I thought the original worked more than it didn't throughout it's run and the premise still beats most cookie cutter network dramas, but when was the last time they tried to retool a concept by making it smarter. This is a dumbfest but I will watch to find out if Chloe ever got out of Russia.

    Yeah Chloe, where is she?

Watched what I guess is the second episode last night, and won't be going back. Current events are more interesting.

it really isn't very good at all:

poor acting....from everyone, seriously, not a good actor anywhere to be found.

terrible script, so unbelievable........steal money from a police station and escape a s.w.a.t. team in the process.

and you knew, you just knew, he was not going to get the flash drive.

    bad bad bad TV show.

i may just hate-watch this one, kind of like 'under the dumb (dome)" it's that bad.
