Cathy Carr. (She's got a mix of jazz, and rock & roll going on here!)

    - (The ending to this song is sultry perfection!)

I stand corrected. Electrical recording appears to have started as early as 1925. Must be something else that I'm hearing.

I wouldn't mind if those Euro Grey Market folks got involved. I think they have missed a boat I'd take - VA comps in certain genres such as this, and Exotica, in particular.

Guess I'm thinking of price as well as getting to hear a great variety of performers - just looked up Pat Suzuki because of the track a few pages on, and she's pretty pricey. :(

Gloria Wood. (So I went looking through my vinyl collection last night, thinking I must have exhausted my personal collection of female torch/jazz singers. Nope, found five or six more! Here they are!)

Miss Teal Joy. (I'm gay, so I can totally say this. ;) Is that not a drag queen name, or what?! Ha! Anyway, she's actually an amazing singer from Bethlehem with only two albums to her name (that I know of.)

Monica Lewis. (One of my most recent thrift finds.)

You might also notice Monica Lewis from a certain cartoon and brand character! ;) (PS - I hate my bananas overly ripe with brown spots!)

Ruth Brown. (Late with Ruth Brown goes for a fortune, unfortunately. I own one of her albums, but sadly, not this one!)

Marian Montgomery. (Some of her other albums are kinda iffy with me, but her Swings for Winners and Losers is pretty much universally thought of as her best, and most "jazz like.")

Betty Hutton. (It's Betty Hutton! Enough said! And man, you just gotta own this album for the cover alone!)

Rita Graham. (She's got that "Nancy Wilson style.")

They're doing a pretty sterling job - not always/often from the masters, but their bonus track selection is generally good and their liner notes and photos are excellent. They've done two complete Jeri Southern volumes and collections of the first bunch of Helen Merrill albums. CD, not vinyl. I wish Ace or someone would get on the case, but in the absence of that....

Is she any relation to Rusty? Songs for Sinners?

"CD, not vinyl." - That's what makes me sad. It's great they're doing something, but I'd much rather have vinyl. Honestly at this point all my music purchases are on vinyl first (new or old music), MP3 second. That's about it.

    - I don't believe so. Annette was born in 1922, Rusty in 1930.

    - Love, love, love those Playboy's Penthouse videos on Youtube! How I wish someone would compile them together and release a really great DVD. Just amazing slice of a time period!

Ruth Price. (I literally just discovered her early today, thanks to my new found obsession with female jazz/torch vocalists due to this thread! So thanks! She's straight up cool jazz! So many women with wonderful voices we still don't even know are out there!)

    - It looks like they DO vinyl, they just don't put out too many of the female vocalists on it as of yet! (Someone get on that!) How is their vinyl? I mean, is this a store like Elusive Disc, or do they produce these CDs, vinyl, etc. How is the quality? Some of the LPs look interesting! They do have Linda Lawson! Speaking of...

Whoa! Hold on! They're in Spain. Cool, Spain! Ugh, international.

Linda Lawson. (I don't think anyone has mentioned her yet? If so, sorry!)
