No one smokes anymore, and cigarettes have been too expensive too long for anyone to offer you theirs, but when watching old crime movies I still get to quote Police Squad:

(Interrogator offers up a pack of cigarettes to suspect)

    Detective: 'Cigarette?'

    Suspect: 'Yes...yes it is.'

    Or, 'Yes...I know.'

So many from Pulp Fiction. Sometimes a series of lines.

Sorry, baby, I had to crash that Honda
You must have gone over a bump, or something
    You watched me wash em

  6. Another PF phrase I use regularly that no one ever recognises was picked up from a movie: "That's a bold statement."

Whenever I'm going through a yellow light with someone in the car, I say "We're on a mission from God" followed by "The light was yellow, sir" - both from one of my favorite movies of all time - The Blues Brothers. I know those didn't happen right in a row in the movie, but that's the way I roll.

My daughter and I were in an Aldi's not too long ago and she did something goofy. I turned to here and said "I don't know about you Henry, you may fold under questioning" (kinda sorta Goodfellas). The cashier girl nearly fell on the floor. SHE got it.

I manage a golf course, so "That's a peach hon" and "Right in the lumber yard" are recited almost daily.

My girlfriend was running a fever the other day and complaining about alternating between feeling warm and feeling chilly. My mind immediately flashed to "He needs more blankets and he needs less blankets!"

I was a career asphalt paving guy. I can't tell you how many times I used that line from Apocalypse Now, substituting asphalt for napalm.

  18. A few from Slap Shot that get referenced, in whole or in part:

"Old time hockey? Like Eddie Shore?"

    "Too much, too soon!"

"I'M LISTENING TO THE F**KING SONG!!!"

    "She's a lesbian! A lesbian!"

"You do that, you go to the box, you know. Two minutes, by yourself, and...you feel shame, you know. And then you get free."

"The peanut vendors are standing up to them!!!"

  23. One I was reminded of tonight, that I pull out occasionally during pub games when I cock something up, from Goodfellas: "MotherF**KER!!" Sure this doesn't have to be a movie quote, but it's all about that Pesci intonation. :)

  24. I suspect half the X-ers here have said "you're so money and you don't even know it!" at least a couple of times.
