Hope they at least keep the old theme song. The new Alvin and the Chipmunks CGI cartoon on Nickelodeon has the 1980's Chipmunk intro theme intact.

The Muppet Babies 2: Get Out Of My House!

Nanny has had her fill of the Muppet Babies; once cute, cuddly muppets, we find them 30 years older, and unable to find jobs. Nanny was supposed to be living her golden years traveling and snuggling with Mr. Nanny; instead, she has to stay at home and take care of a houseful of lazy, good for nothing puppets. Next, on CBS!

The Transformers, G.I Joe, My Little Pony, Smurfs, and Alvin And The Chipmunks franchises have been revamped and done very well in TV and movies over the last 10 years so I don't see why a new CGI Muppet Babies cartoon can't work.

I'm surprised this didn't happen sooner. I thought it would be a given once Disney had both the Muppets and Marvel in their portfolio.

It was rumored way back around 2005 or so (and some CGI designs might have even leaked out then) but I think the idea got put on the shelf.

It still speaks of severe desperation on Jim Henson companies part..
And Disney.. mega greedy.. I hope it fails.. Some people can't
think outside of the box anymore..

You seem nice. And The Jim Henson Company has nothing to do with this; they sold the Muppets to Disney 12 years ago.

I wonder if the reboot will make use of the archive of Disney footage like the original show did? That was always one of my favorite things about the original show.

They'd be better off just releasing the original series on DVD...

That would be great, but it won't happen because of all the clips from TV shows and movies they used- it would be a licensing nightmare. :(

Well, the way Disney is buying up franchises, that may be less and less of a problem as time goes on...

Another example of lack of originality in today's TV/movies.
    It's computer animated too.
The original was great. Move on to something new.

Disney has made plenty of original children's programing over the years, but they also want to use their existing properties to draw in viewers and make money. I guess I don't see the problem.

Why don't they just bring back Mickey Mouse, and the Mickey Mouse Club? Seems to me that would still attract lots of kids.

They gave Mickey a very popular show- granted, it's not The Mickey Mouse Club, but still...

If the reboot does occur, I hope they keep it sweet-natured like the original and not gear it towards adults. And for Pete's sake, please no Fart Jokes.

They've actually been making fantastic new Mickey shorts the past three years. There are about 60 of them now.

I'm to a point just tired Disney's greed and the constant reboots..
It lacks creativity and imagination as disney once had I wish Jim Hensons
kids should of never sold to Disney, they don't deserve it..
I always cherish that one scene from Escape From LA when Snake, was playing
basketball you see Disneyland in ruins in the background.:D:p

Yeah, I don't understand why Disney has gotten cold feet about releasing those. :(
