Can anyone make a case for the Beatles'
    U. S. Revolver album being better than it's unabridged U. K. brother?

Other than I like the feel of it more, no. Well, maybe this: I do prefer I've Just Seen A Face as the opener than Drive My Car. And by taking Nowhere Man out, you get a folkier album. I like that...the feel of it.

It's just what I was brought up with.

It would be difficult viewed thru any type of rose colored glasses. The best case I can make is that the US Rubber Soul/Yesterday & Today/Revolver combination may be the best order in which to play those tracks. Otherwise Revolver UK beats the US version in a faceoff any day of the week and twice on Sunday

    We're doing Revolver LOL

But I agree with you about Rubber Soul.
Revolver is tough because it takes songs away but adds nothing.
I'm thinking some people might like the flow better.

Well.... I like the US better when I'm short of time...

Oh brother...I need another coffee, or something...

Actually, then, I'm very good with the UK Revolver, and do prefer it!

No. Not a fan of any Beatles Capitol album, other than MMT

No, removing three primo John songs is indefensible to me. I guess some fans of the Capitol albums will say that they prefer having the US version along with its counterpart, Yesterday and Today, but I don't find that to be a cohesive collection of material.

I love the Yesterday & Today album and still sort of think of those three songs belonging there, but I can't say Revolver is better without them.

As far as sequencing, I do kind of like Good Day Sunshine right into For No One. But the answer is no, can't really make a case.

No, but I can make a case for "Yesterday & Today", the US "Revolver" and the Paperback Writer / Rain 45. :)

In my opinion, all three of those, sequenced in an "attractive" way, surpasses the UK Revolver.

If you don't like John Lennon material or backwards guitar that much, and like the dirtier US Capitol Records vinyl sound, this one may be preferable to the UK version.

Still way too much Paul on Yesterday and Today.

Not that I see Paul as a problem, but he has less presence on Yesterday and Today than on any other Beatles albums. Only 3 lead vocals. Wrote 2 tunes and cowrote 2 by most reports.

    See edit, 3 lead vocals.

But unless your point of view is that P.O.B. is the best Beatles album it is hard to see why your dislike for Paul would lead you to prefer an album he had more presence on.

  23. UK Revolver is the best Beatles album by far; if it had Paperback Writer and Rain in place of Dr. Robert and Yellow Submarine, it would be the best album ever by anybody.

I was so glad to get the UK version, nothing interesting about the US version.

The Beatles' Second Album is so exquisite with only one Paul lead vocal.
