Plus buy 2 get 1 free CD's in store through November 27. To do a sale that long strikes me as an inventory dump. Their DVD inventory at the flagship store in Norwood is nearly extinct and this may be a step to doing the same with CD's.

CD inventory at the mall stores near me is nearly invisible. One half of a browser rack. No deep inventory at all. Mostly just the top 20-30 on an endcap and a thin selection in the browser that probably isn't as good as your local BestBuy these days.

Same with my local store , i rarely even bother going in anymore ............ half the time even new releases don't come in or they get one that sold already :shake:

Agreed on both counts insofar as the mall stores are concerned. I'm curious about what the Norwood and Newbury Street locations will look like....

And the Harvard Square store, as well. That one still (last I was in there) had a decent CD selection.

Newbury Comics seems like they gave up. In August on a hot Sunday afternoon (around 7PM) I stopped at the Bullmoose in Salem on the way home from the Lakes region.
Bullmoose was PACKED! They had tons of manila packages near the register ready to be shipped. It was an absolute madhouse , people shopping, clerks
helping customers. This was a Sunday in late August!
It looked like a week before Christmas.

Makes you wonder why Bullmoose is doing gangbusters and Newbury is scaling back. What happened? Did Dreese give up, burnt out maybe?

They use the excuse that CD sales are not there, but how do you explain Bullmoose? Newbury doesn't even have a serious website, and they never bought into blu rays. They have
never had a good section for Blu's. One of the clerks told me they won't buy cd's from trade ins of The Smiths, Robyn Hitchcock...(among many others) and he laughed and said The Smiths built Newbury Comics.
The Cd's they stock are the same warhorses that everyone has bought multiple times....it is very rare that you find something unique or offbeat. I'm with Davidmk5 I have not stepped foot in he Norwood store
    since mid summer.

That was my understanding. I was unable to find any intel on other titles besides Tenor Madness and this one though. Please post here if anyone learns more!

CCR's Cosmo and Bayou Country are also the DCC plates cut by SH/KG.

Is the consensus that the SH/KG versions beat the original deep groove Fantasy pressings?

The first copy I received was pretty warped. Newbury was good about quickly sending a replacement. It's better but still dished with a smallish edge warp.

I also didn't see any reference to KG/SH in the deadwax but instead some scratched out areas.

On the bright side, 2nd copy is playable and sounds excellent. I assume it's the KG/SH version, since it sounds so good.

I didn't notice the scratched out stuff but likely because how hard it is to see with that color vinyl. Not sure why it's scratched out but what I can see of it, compared with the Tenor Madness deadwax, it should be the SH/KG. I think they both sound great too

I've had issues with my orders arriving with dinged damaged covers but the vinyls always been flat and fine.

Interesting how they use an LP they don't stock anymore in their marketing...
