Just saw a press release on three new Schiit products, part of its new "2-channel" line:

Those are really nice price points, IMO.

Nice to have some more choices for separates at the budget end of the spectrum. I was looking into Emotiva and Parasound earlier this year and ultimately neither of them inspired me enough to lay out what is, to me, a considerable amount of cash. These might tempt me. Look forward to hearing them.

Never would have guessed those prices after reading the feature set. Can't imagine they won't sell a ton of them.

I am definitely getting one of the preamps. I just need to decide if the additional features of the Freya are worth it if I don't have any balanced components to use with it at the moment.

They need a phono preamp in that range.

I suspect we'll see an update to the Mani in 2017.

It's nice to see that they understand Average Joe's disposable income levels ......

Came across this thread this evening when Googling for RMAF impressions on the new Schiit gear. Wanted to share the link to our Schiit Two-Channel Gear Compendium over at SBAF in case any find it a helpful resource.

    Regards,

Looks interesting. I don't need a new amp right now but if I was in the market for separates I would be keeping an eye on these and reading reviews once they are out. Props to them for including a decent amount of inputs. I hate when I see integrate amps and preamps with only 3 inputs.

I am going to order a Freya sight unseen. Something I have never done.

I use a pre with a stepped attenuator - having 128 vs. 64 steps would be worth the price difference alone. Throw in the balanced ins and outs, JFET buffer and some of the other goodies and it's a no-brainer. I'd love to hear these new units.

I'm starting to think a Bimby + Freya to feed into my Anthem MRX-710 would make a pretty decent combination.

    Schiit.

Does one get actual gain with a JFET buffer?

What I don't get about this is how you might incorporate it with a Schiit headphone amp. Right now I use a tape loop on my pre to feed an Asgard.

I believe that one of the pre-amp outputs on the Freya can be set to fixed instead of variable, but otherwise I don't believe these are designed with headphone rigs in mind.

There's really no good way to this. Saga was kept simple and not overloaded with every single feature so it could be sold at a low price point.

Yes, the Freya gives you the choice of being completely passive, active with JFETs or active with 6SN7 tubes.

Great, thanks. This is a really serious joke on the industry. Balanced I/O, 3 operation modes, 128 stepped attenuator, remote, and made in the usa...for a buck under $700.

They definitely managed to locate a huge hole in the market.

    The Freya looks really nice!

The Saga with it's single 6SN7, keeps calling out to my box of orphan 6SN7's. Hmmmm.

Let's hope they make some schiity loudspeakers soon to go with these amps!
