Which means it's actually Ariston inspired...

I'll reserve judgment until I see the suspension!

Has anybody had the opportunity to check one of these units out up close yet?

I saw this in the most recent Audio Advisor catalog. To my eyes it looks pretty classy though I would like to see it in person. I can imagine buying this for my next stereo upgrade.

I am really interested in getting one of those as an upgrade to my Debut Carbon. Great reviews, but has anyone actually bought one yet? And more importantly, can vouch for its quality. I have little doubt that it will be anything other than great, but I just want to make sure.

AudioLlama did a simple review. Looks like a solid design to me, though it looks a bit like it cannibalized some others. I plan to buy one.

While I appreciate the aesthetics of this new model, I would never recommend it to a friend. I believe there's many better alternatives in that price range.

For a couple hundred more, you could likely get a real classic: a fully restored Thorens from Vinyl Nirvana. You'd end up with a turntable that's superior in many ways. I'm not normally a Rega fan, but I believe the new Planar 3 is likely better as well.

If the best sound per dollar is your goal, I'd look at other options.

From a cosmetic perspective, very simple and elegant. I'm sure it's a fine TT as Project has a fine reputation for building quality TT's. If I was looking for a TT in that price range I would give it a look. However I own a Linn and am quite happy w/the real thing.

They could've at least included electronic speed control on that thing. Also don't like that none of these unboxing videos actually show what is under the hood. If this model has the same motor isolation issues as the cheaper Pro-Jects, not a good value at all.

I agree. I'd like to see it's main bearing and spindle. I highly doubt it's as as robust as a 10mm Thorens bearing.

I was wondering about this turntable just the other day as there's just no in depth reviews on it. I recently bought a new turntable and this was one id almost considered when making the shortlist but never really gave it much thought due to the lack of info on it.

Love the look of this but then ive always loved the look of vintage turntables. Its one reason i got rid of my project debut a few years ago and bought a Thorens TD160

A new model was shown at CES. It will have speed control.

    For an extra $300-400, right?

Yup. Extra $400, but I think it's a very good deal since it comes with not just the speed control, but the blue point no. 2 cartridge, a clamp and leather mat.

I think the cart alone retails for that? Still not sure I'd buy one.
