These are the ones I listen to the most. I've been a big Sabbath fan since I was a teenager, and find it hard to pick a favorite. Recently I've progressed to listening to the Tony Martin years and found I quite enjoy most of it - have not heard much with Dio yet, though the bits and pieces I've heard of Heaven and Hell have been great. Will get there eventually.

Am also really, really into Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die at the moment. See this is the problem with Black Sabbath... So many eras, so many moods... 3 albums aren't enough to pick! But there's definitely a breadth and a depth in the first six albums that seemed to wear off after that.

This is super tough - Sabbath is one of my favorites so my top 3 kind of depends on what type of mood for them I'm in.

I went with Paranoid, Master of Reality, and Vol. 4. I would have loved to include Sabbath Bloody Sabbath or Heaven & Hell, but they didn't quite make the cut.

If you enjoy tony Martin (as do I) you will probably love the dio years.

I have and love them all! As the two best I have to go with Paranoid and especially Master by far. A third is tough, but I went with 13. I was very impressed with this one and it holds up well with repeated listening. I can't think of many so called dinosaur bands with a release this strong 40+ years after their debut.
