    Holy s***.

Just last night I was at a bar and "Last Christmas" came on the jukebox. I noticed how great the singer sounded, what a great vocal it was, but couldn't remember WHO it was.

I hope he is cruising on that yacht from "Careless Whisper" forever, and that she/he that he betrayed, forgives him.

    RIP

I quite simply thought this was a joke. It had to be. But seriously, gobsmacked. Another loss, another great gone.
53, so bloody young. This is ridiculous.

One of my mum's favourite songs.

Photos of him a few weeks ago. He'd gained a bit of weight, was tough to recognize and was in a Swiss rehab.

Allegedly he's had some major health issues in recent years, which explains the low profile.

Very sad, an extremely talented man but to be honest, the news doesn't surprise me. When you consider his health issues in recent years, absence from the public eye and rumors of HIV, I was expecting this at some point.

A troubled life but what a songwriter and what a singer.

The old cultural celebrity touch points are disappearing. In the words of Dylan, the times they are a-changing.

Perhaps the lesson from this year is that our own lives and those we truly love and know are more important. The culture of celebrity is perhaps what is dying with all these losses.

I like how 2016's Death List is comprised mainly of folks you didn't see coming. It stings more that way. The new PR firm is really earning it's keep.

Anyway, 2016 can do lots of horrible things to itself until it dies in a few days.

Mr Michael was an extremely talented man and this news makes me sad.

I had just seen "Keanu" a few days ago, and I was thinking, "Wow! What a nice big commercial for George Micheal! This could be the 'come-back' break he needs!"

Very sad. Usually when they say someone died peacefully it means it wasn't unexpected.

Hard to overstate how popular this guy was in the late '80s and early '90s. I was a fan of much of his music, and I always respected his vision. A terrible loss, especially at such a young age.
