Prince is passed as well, a huge icon of that era

My parents must really be going through it, My mother is a fan of both George and Whitney, ugh.

I feel like I need to say a little prayer for some of my faves.

Wow, RIP. I have been at my parents' house all day - it is literally a 30-second walk from George Michael's house in the centre of the village where he passed today. Shocking.

I'm actually stunned at the amount of talented famous people who've gone this year. I know it's a cliche, but these people are irreplaceable. So depressing.

I'm a bigger fan of solo George than Wham but this song here

Is one of the greatest songs of all-time.

I watched him last night make his Top Of The Pops debut in 1982 with Wham!'s 'Young Guns (Go For It)'. Very memorable performance. Especially for back then. It really d0esnt seem that long ago..

I can sadly understand the passing of any aging rock star (75+ year). It will happen to us all. But 53 is way too young. This year has not been good.

If anyone could deliver a Queen song better than Freddie, it was George Michael.

Just saw this about 10 minutes ago. Stunned. One of my favorite tracks from Listen Without Prejudice is 'Heal The Pain' My brother Tom told me one day "listen to this George Michael track and tell me it doesn't sound like it should be a McCartney track. I probably would have never listened to this album it wasn't for my brother's insistence that I should listen to this track. Great track and great album. Didn't even know this duet/remake existed...from the Best Of George Michael CD:

Ironically, and coincidentally, this George Michael died some seven years to the week after another George Michael (né Gimpel) - a U.S. sportscaster famous for the TV highlights series The George Michael Sports Machine, and before that a popular radio disc jockey at such stations as WABC Musicradio 77 in New York from 1974 to 1979 and at WFIL in Philadelphia before that - passed away, at age 70, back on Dec. 24, 2009.

This year has been relentless. So much loss. I'm guessing drugs or the damage they caused will be the culprit. 6 days to go and I bet we're not done yet. Not so merry anymore.

:shrug:This song was always sad to me since I first heard it in 1987.
Now it will be sadder. Can't understand this.

Unbelievable. Not a big fan of his music though I liked the occasional single. His personality however was quite admirable. I came to greatly respect the man after continuously seeing him express himself elaborately and intelligently on various subjects throughout the years. Another authentic intelligent and witty person is gone. What a loss. Piss off 2016.

Just read it, and can't believe it. God. Suffice to say, he has been one of my favourite artists of all time, from 1984 to the present. It's that horrible, hollow, uneasy feeling I had when I found out Prince had passed away, where I just want to sit down for a second, and not say anything. So tragic for his friends and family. RIP.
