I know this is a tired statement, but I still think NBC wronged Conan. I can't stand Fallon - every single guest that he has on, he's "their biggest fan".

Not surprised by this news, saw it coming when he was eclipsed creatively during the election cycle by Meyers, Kimmel and Colbert. Conan can always bring the silly, but when the stakes got heavier, he couldn't keep up...

Conan is still the funniest single talk show host on now. IMHO

Conan is almost 54 years old and has been at this for 23 years. I wouldn't blame him if he used this as an excuse to retire.

I think once a week with maybe a 90 minute format with on location pieces could set him apart from everything else. I might actually watch that more.

Trying to figure what would be the best night/timeslot for this, not sure he should be going up against the other late-nite talkshows. Friday or Saturday at 10pm ET? Wednesday at 9?...

I'm no fan of Fallon either, but from the purely mercenary standpoint of ratings, I don't see how one can argue Conan was wronged. He was losing to Letterman...

Loved Conan, but during the last couple years of the election cycle I assumed he was off the air since no news sites ever embedded any clips from his monologues. Every other late night talk show had them. Whoever was in charge of getting his bits out into the news failed.

I like Conan, but he's on TBS, who won't play nice with Hulu, so I never see it. (Same with Colbert)

Having said that, I think the weekly format (or maybe a bi-weekly thing) is a better thing for comedians. I really don't care about the guests, just about the hosts, and having to be funny for a full hour every single night means not all of it is funny. I think it's worked out really well for John Oliver and Samantha Bee, who can take the time to make sure every show is a winner, rather than just having to run with whatever is on the table that day. There's enough content out there that we don't need to watch the same show every night, y'know?

My guess is it will be paired with Samantha Bee's show, which is moving to Wednesdays.

It seems like "we are considering this" became "we are doing this" in the minds of some at the organization.... or maybe it's "we are doing this" but someone spoke too soon.... or they're sending up a trial balloon.

Conan had a solid niche in the post-Tonight Show time slot at NBC, but as with so many other late night TV personalities, ego got in the way.

Both have lots of official stuff on youtube. Colbert has full monologues and interview segment.

I think if they move it to a weekly thing the show may become even more lost in the competition than it already is. Comparing the current show to a weekly series such as John Oliver's is comparing apples to lawn mowers. John has his niche and it is really not a talk show...

Only one thing can save Conan if it goes to a weekly, more Norm Macdonald.
