A show like Lost in Space, but intelligent and for adults, not mainly kids, with the sensibility of Star Trek.

Or an updated version of The Millionaire - maybe a guy wins 1B in a lottery and for a hobby seeks out deserving people to give money to..

A new Gilligans island with with the same characters but set in the present day, with a slant toward how to build the things you need for daily life using bamboo trees and coconut shells.

In fact, heres the premise: They land on the same island 50 years later.

    Thanks!

You know, If I were casting this show, I'd hire Gilbert Godfrey to be Gilligan, and I'd hire Simon Baker from "The Mentalist" to be The Professor. It might also be hysterical to hire Dawn Wells as Maryanne!!!

A new animated series starring The Beatles:

Premise: Set shortly before the breakup, someone has stolen the Beatles music and has erased the knowledge of The Beatles and their music from the world. Only the four Beatles know what has happened and they have to go on a quest to restore their music to the world, song by song.

The Catch: No one knows who they are and they are now in a world where we see what music would be like without the influence of The Beatles. Although The Beatles know what has happened, they don't remember the songs and must recover them to restore themselves too.

As each Beatles song is restored to the world, the world's music changes a little bit.

I'd like to see the premium cable networks and on-demand streaming networks get their hooks into meaty science fiction. There are literally hundreds of scifi books out there just waiting to be seriously adapted as a mini-series or as a multi-book adaptation over several seasons. I know there have been a few, such as The Expanse (even though it's on syfy), but there exists a vast body of work out there waiting to be tapped.

In my own personal alternate universe...

In 1957 Brtiish actor Nigel Patrick didn't go back to England right after shooting Raintree County.

Instead he stayed in Hollywood to do the TV version of this radio show:

Herewith, an Englishman's account of life and death in the West. As a reporter for the London Times, he writes his colorful and unusual accounts. But as a man with a gun, he lives and becomes a part of the violent years in the new territories. Now, starring Nigel Patrick, this is the story of J. B. Kendall, Frontier Gentleman...

The show was never a big ratings hit but got good reviews, not only for its style and sharp dialogue but also for eschewing gratuitous gunplay and fistfights, as J.B. Kendall always preferred to talk his way out of trouble.

Frontier Gentleman ran on ABC from 1958 to 1961, for a run of 117 episodes. Seldom seen in syndication since the 1960s and never released on VHS or DVD, Frontier Gentleman remains a fondly-remembered cult favorite.

I wish there had been a sequel to The Prisoner.

Also, there was supposed to be a new Star Trek series in the 70s with the original cast, but then they went the movie route instead. I would have liked another TV series with the original cast.

A thirty minute sitcom about a Los Angeles session musician in 1965-66 who plays on
everybody's sessions (a la The Wrecking Crew). Great venue for music industry jokes
about everyone from Sinatra to Spector to The Byrds and Beach Boys. Cameos galore.

Isn't that the basic plot of all those survivor-reality shows today?

A reboot of The Rockford Files with Nathan Fillion (of Castle and Firefly fame) in the title role.

I suggest that you check out Republic of Doyle, a Canadian drama/comedy series about a private investigator. It's no remake, but is very much in the spirit of Rockford Files. Republic of Doyle ran for six seasons and won several awards. It's well made and fun.
