Most interesting. The 3 most significant paragraphs would be:

Buckingham and McVie, together to make their first duet album after decades of Fleetwood Mac collaborations, have returned to the Village Recorder, now called Village Studios, the same place where four decades ago they made their 1979 double album “Tusk.”

Inside the studio’s wood-paneled suite, which they helped design while riding high on “Rumors” royalties, Buckingham and McVie are prepping for a vocal session. But first comes a photo shoot. Beyond the mixing board on the other side of the glass, drummer Mick Fleetwood’s imposing kit stands at the ready. McVie’s lyrics are piled on a music stand not far from Buckingham’s amp and guitar. In an isolation room is a baby grand piano.

They’re nearly done with the album they’re calling “Buckingham McVie.”

Is this the sequel to Buckingham Nicks?

Can't wait, on the last 20 years Lindsey had a remarkable solo output and 2004 Christine solo album is really good, their songwriting reunion is the one I've been waiting since the 80's

Is there a reason why Stevie wont be a part of this??, seems weird

    It's gonna be great!!

I think the title could be funny:
Fleetwood Mac - Buckingham McVie. Their 4 names.

Imagine what they could have done spending royalties from "Rumours!"

I thought that this thread would be about a Lindsey Buckingham / John McVie album.

some people are addicted to the Buck Nicks soap opera drama, I for one, am not.
I think both Chris and Lindsey have great creative chemistry, and have since the '75 album.

Geez, they actually had to give up on Stevie. Well I guess this gets the music out there, and maybe with lower expectations... I can see this working but I still think it would have been nice to have Stevie there for a few tracks... especially when they're still going to be touring with her.

(though part of me wonders if they're calling her bluff with this.)

I'm assuming Lindsey and Christine aren't going to be topless on the cover.

If they could put out the last album without Christine and bill it as a Fleetwood Mac album, then why can't they do the same here without Stevie?

I guess because Stevie hasn't actually left the group?

I'm not sure if there's ever been a day since the 70s when all three of them actually wanted to be in the band at the same time.

Stevie Nicks' songs are generally my least favorite so I'm fine with this.

Nix Nicks and more Buckingham and Mcvie...

  20. I was hoping that they would do this rather than Wait for Nicks to come in with a new group of songs. Honestly, I find her a frustrating individual when it comes to Mac. If you make the commitment, then stick with it meaning, if you are going to tour with them at least appear on the album. She could sing one of the others songs or, at least, participate as a backing vocalist then you could move forward and call it a Fleetwood Mac (which they could do with just the two of them writing anyway as they did with Say You Will).

Christine looks younger than Lindsey in that photo. Since Mick and John are on the album, it would be easy to market this as a FM album.

I would think the Fleetwood Mac name would sell more.

This is bittersweet. I want to hear these songs but I also want Mick and John part of it. And I was holding out that Stevie would eventually come with a song or two of her own.

So now does that mean that any new Fleetwood Mac album is completely off the table? If they're going ahead with these songs between Lindsey and Christine---what is left for a FM album? Unless these are more songs still in the can for a FM album? Do I remember correctly that there were actually too many songs being worked on? I hope I"m remembering right...

  23. If they are calling her bluff, it's just going to add to the discord between them. I suspect they told her they were gong to do this regardless of whether she was goi g to decide to be involved or basically told her "if you're ok with this we are going to release this because we have a great group of new songs we want out there".

If she changes her tune and decides to join in it will probably further delay the project and they aren't getting any younger...

I have read Chris interviews where she says how her songs were improved 200% by LB. I think she cited Little Lies as an example. She really gives him free rein.
    I'm totally ok with this!
