Impressive. I still can't believe he's not anymore with us.

Yeah, it's horrible that he's gone. I started listening to him regularly again about eight months ago and wondering what he was going to come up with next. Oh well.
It's a shame that Listen Without Prejudice is currently out of print as that would probably be doing well on the charts right now.

It's a shame he doesn't have some huge vault of unreleased songs they could release over the forthcoming years.

I suspect the boxset will sell very well this March, and the documentary will also get high ratings.

Freedom '90 has one of the catchiest hooks I've ever heard in a pop song.

    I hope so, it's a beautiful album.

I'm genuinely honored that so many liked my blog, it's means a lot to me.

Oddly Older was a strange release for me, it didn't have the same impact as Music From The Edge Of Heaven or LWP. There was a big gap in George's career before that album, I kind of left George behind, tired of waiting for new music, my life had moved on, I was an "adult". It took me a while to warm up to the sophisticated "jazzy" album, I love Star People, it's my favorite. Outside kind of regenerated my interest, I love the Patience album.

Patience is the only album of George's that I didn't like, I must give it another go.

The only tracks I don't like were the 2 first pre-album singles Shoot The Dog and Freek, the rest is fabulous.

I love both LWP and Older, but if I have to compare the two, I like Older just a bit more. I think George was at his best when he was making LWP in terms of his music creativity and his vocal ability, and the album still has lots of youth energy. Older, to me, is probably the most sophisticated GM album, and his music ability was close to his best. I really like the atmospheric feeling of the album. When played on a better sounding system, the album sounds great. I also like Patience, although less so than his first three solo albums.

Let's hope the mastering is good. The original album sounds great, though it's the only time I've had to turn down the treble in my lifeless car stereo speakers!

I think Patience is just as amazing (pun intended) as the rest of his albums. At least musically. Sound wise it's awefully compressed and I'm hoping for a vinyl release. Or a remaster with more dynamics.

I thought the songs were poor on Patience. I am a huge George fan but My Sister Had a Brother and John and Elvis sounded dire to me.

I liked the lyric and sentiments of those two, but the melodies just weren't quite there. Fragmentary.

Very interesting and a nice photo of George. Madonna does not seem to fit the type of diva George later sang duet with. But it would have been great if they had sung a dancing song together during the 80s.

George and Madonna was a missed opportunity.

Sth just occurred to me: In this picture, George looked so handsome, or may too pretty. When someone looked this pretty, he is probably not going to be taken seriously.

George had a really cool writing tendency on a lot of his songs.
He often would repeat similar rhymes at similar sections of songs or the same words with a different meaning at the next point in the song .
    Examples:
Heartbeat- "I was happy with the kisses she gave me it's just that happy was all she made me...."
    Then later
"I was happy with the kisses she gave me but now there's nothing on earth can save me"
Kissing a Fool - "Strange that you we're strong enough"
    "Maybe I'll be strong enough"
"Strange that I was wrong enough"
One More Try - "I wrote the song I know it's wrong"
I know you're wrong you're not that strong"
Cowboys and Angels does it a lot twice in different sections. "I know you think that you're safe MISTER
    Harmless DECEPTION
    That keeps love at BAY
It's the ones who RESIST that we most want to KISS
    Wouldn't you SAY"...
"I know you think that you're safe SISTER
    Harmless AFFECTION
    That keeps things this WAY
It's the ones who PERSIST for the sake of a KISS
    Who will PAY"
Praying for Time - "Turned his back and all God's children crept out the backdoor"
"He has no children to come back for"
Waiting For That Day - "I've got to be strong now"
"You don't have to be so strong now"
