Thanks for the heads up OobuJoobu but you may want to change your link next time...When I put the item in my cart via your link it showed up as being on someone's gift list which I assume may have been yours...I had to delete cache and Amazon.co.uk cookies from my computer to make a "clean" purchase.

    Oh, thank you, didn't realise!

Edit: I've asked a mod to replace the link with the correct one that I've just given them :)

^^^ Blindly copying Amazon links can be dangerous. Better to construct them manually and minimally, as follows:

    http://amazon.co.uk/dp/ASIN

(Replace "ASIN" with the code shown in the Product Details.)

Simply use the Share button on each Amazon page, and it will generate the URL (as above) for you. Then copy and paste.

Actually, no: The Share button generates an abbreviated link with an unique code (not the ASIN) which encapsulates reference tracking information. You will notice that every use of the Share button creates a DIFFERENT URL. If you don't want to be tracked, do it yourself as I showed.

I see. I never knew that. How does one decode the tracking information, or is that just something for Amazon? If you are not signed into Amazon, what sort of tracking information could the link contain?

I'm guessing that Amazon stores an entry on its servers when the share link is created. That would at least contain the ASIN, but it could contain any personally-identifiable information, i.e. your IP address, Amazon login, etc. It's not decodeable; it's a lookup code.

nb: I can't get the link to work using the safe method described a few posts earlier so just do Amazon UK search if interested...

You must have pasted my example link (with "ASIN" in it), then edited the text after posting. The forum inserted a link to the example. Here you go:

Thanks Bob. I didn't realise posting a link generated by Amazon puts all your personal junk up for all to see. I'll be very careful in the future...

USA buyers can get this cheaper from the Amazon.com site.

Stick the code in the offers/promo box at the checkout, it's £50+ and only on Amazon sold stuff (not 3rd party)

Me too! Buyers tip....Search for 'add on item' if your order doesn't quite add up to £50. Mine was £49!! So I bought a Sharpie pen for £1 to quality....which I needed anyway :)
