    Todd68 I'm Listening

It took me years to get into "Planet Caravan" and I felt it was a weak track on Paranoid. Then something changed, not sure what, but it is one of my favourite Sabbath tunes ever. Such a trip.

It's amazing listening to Age of Reason it really has a Dio era feel, musically of course, not the vocals. I wish they simply included the bonus tracks on the vinyl as there is room for the grooves. Side 4 should have had the 4 bonus tracks even if they are more similar to the solo Ozzy sound.

Amazing tune and always been one of my favorites. Zeitgeist blew me away as well on first listen.

I agree. I didn't like it much in 1983, apart from "Trashed" (at the time I was a huge fan of Gillan's band so I had been looking forward to Born Again and was appalled when it came out). But I've listened to it a fair bit over the past few years, including yesterday, and have come to appreciate it. In fact the terrible sound is part of its charm, the murky audio combined with Gillan's inappropriate vocal style and Iommi's deranged playing makes for a truly chaotic experience that sounds more like early Sabbath then anything else the "band" ever did.

And after getting 'into' jazz, and hearing the backstory about Tony's accident and coworker inspiration of Django Reinhart's story - that took my appreciation of PC to a different level. Tony's guitar work is sublime.

Funny, now H&H I find dated. With Dio, I thought Mob Rules the stronger effort.

Ain't it strange how one can take an excerpt from a post and make it all different.......there was a magazine that made a lot of money doing that IIRC...

Digital Bitch sounds nothing like early Sabbath. More like a heavy IGB. There are some notable songs on that album, but as a work doesn't stand up to Ozzy Sabbath. And that cover art, what a stinker!

It more than than stands up....especially to the later Ozzy-Sabbath albums, which I have trouble finishing or playing in their entirety.

TE and NSD are fantastic and way better than 13.

Bill Ward on drums, for one...

I'm in for anything with the original 4 or that has Dio singing.

Not sure that I have even heard any of the later BS albums. I'm a metal "light weight"...

    They're a logical progression.

I don't listen to much metal anymore but I'll always love Sabbath. Sabbath is bluesy and it swings. Plus Iommi + Butler = bliss,

Its not a total dud - but God Is Dead - maybe just a minute or two too long for me. End Of The Beginning is incredible - even with those issues I have over the tones used (guitar and drums). Loner and Zeitgeist are too much of a rehash but are okay ( you know where the original ideas come from) Live Forever could feature on a Budgie album (I love Budgie but they were a League below Sabbath). Dear Father should be on the bonus disc - one of the bonus disc songs should have been promoted to the main album.

Maybe CD listening is not helping my experience - if the vinyl is a better listen - but just something isn't working for me. But hey - Never Say Die jumped into new life a few years ago for me, so maybe 13 will do the same someday too

Paranoid and the early compilation We Sold Our Soul for a good coverage of other early tracks. The later compilation 'Greatest Hits'? is good too.
