No affection for Neeson's baring it all, or at least the back half, in A Million Ways to Die in the West?
A solid actor but I think some of his choices a few years ago were a bit suspect because I reckon he was 'keeping himself busy' as a distraction from unfortunate events.
Apparently Liam Neeson begged the director to be in The Grey this was just weeks after his wife's untimely death. You can see the angst in his performance.
Running out of dvds ( even blu rays)to collect. It's a bit like collecting music I find now....difficult.
Yeah that was one of the better choices. I think the trailers for that film miss sold it greatly. They make it look like a simple plane crash in hostile environment movie but its much more than that. Plus did everyone watch till after the credit ended?
Think you may be right. People seem to be very unforgiving about actors taking roles in films that don't turn out that good. I mean you have to pay the bills firstly, and second you don't really know what a film will turn out like. 'Taken' was a dumb action film and probably a pay check but it turned out a decent film (though we don't need the sequels). You could say the same for Keanu's John Wick, looked liked a dumb action flick but turned out to be great. I think Neeson is a very solid actor. He did get nominated for an Oscar for Schindler's List, which is by far his best performance. He is excellent in that, a solid actor with a good script and director and that is what you get. I also liked him in Michael Collins and Batman Begins. He's been typecast of late with the action films.
He was very good in an otherwise uneven movie, Love Actually. Ironically he played a widower; he would be one himself a few years later.
I thought "Taken III" was a bounce back from the previous one. Also like "Non-Stop", "The Grey", "A Walk Among The Tombstones", "A Million Ways To Die In The West" and some others. He is pretty reliable that most of his films will be somewhat entertaining.
I enjoy watching Liam Neeson movies. He should've been cast in action movies early in his career though. He plays a good a** kicker.
