Only if the vid has spectacular effects do I spring for B-ray. Actually my combo player reproduces both very well.

Some 20 years later in a strange twist of fate, his son Micheál is playing the part of that same Irish revolutionary (Michael Collins) in a new Irish film about the events of the 1916 rising. Liam Neeson’s son to take on Michael Collins role »
First I ever saw him was in the last Dirty Harry movie. Still think of that in the back of my mind when I see him in something more recent.
I only discovered that film last night. It's a hilariously bad movie! Apparently Sam Raimi was determined to make a comic-book type movie and you can see that he was really truing but he totally blew it. It's bonkers. For good measure Neeson over-acts the hell out it too.
The thing that I remember most from that film was that Larry Drake (a/k/a the "Benny the special needs guy" from L.A. Law) played the villain. That movie also made me a lot more careful around cigar-cutters than I had been previously...
I think he's a great actor who's wasted his career in a lot of really bad movies (and a couple of great ones).
Remember when George Costanza in Seinfeld wanted a John Voight day at the Yankee's stadium? When he couldn't get it he mocked the management team by saying under his breath something like "If I said a Liam Neeson day things would be different".
Darkman is a great movie with a certain comicbook style. Very little bad about it. 83% on Rotten Tomatoes meter thingy too.
Consider: SCHINDLER'S LIST KINGDOM OF HEAVEN ROB ROY Those are three huge, sprawling epics that are three of the best films of my lifetime. If you haven't seen the Director's Cut of KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, do yourself a favor and watch it. The theatrical version was one of the more severe truncations released to the theaters, eliminating entire characters and crucial relationships from the actual film. The theatrical release was a decent film; the Director's Cut is in my personal top ten and Ridley Scott's best work.
Well I get the comic-book fun of the film but boy, has it dated badly. It certainly is fun at a stretch.
The movie is five years old at best. A remake ? Are you serious? ? Edit: Ok, six, the point still stands ....
Liam Neeson is an excellent and versatile actor (as anyone who has seen his now long ago stage roles will attest) whose film roles require very little of him. I can't blame him for his career choices.
I concur....one needs to work! I certainly don't know what he's been offered and what he's turned down.
