I've said this several times, but for the type of film it is "Back to the Future" is pretty much perfect.

I forgot one of my favorite movies ever - forgot that it wasn't a 9os movie, Drugstore Cowboy

Bob (Matt Dillon) explains the hat-on-the-bed hex to Nadine (a very young Heather Graham) and her boyfriend Rick (James Le Gros). Kelly Lynch's facial expressions in this scene are hilarious. Matt Dillon has never been better.

  18. A ton of great films! However, for me, no list is complete without:

    Urban Cowboy (1980)
    Cruising (1980)
    The Lost Boys (1987)
    Quest for Fire (1981)
    Clue (1985)
    Transylvania 65000 (1985)
    Purple Rain (1984)
    The Last American Virgin (1982)

From this list the 3 that I've seen so many times that I can basically quote the entire movie are...

    The Breakfast Club (1985)
Carl - "When I was a kid, I wanted to be John Lennon"

    Back To The Future (1985)
Sam Baines: Who the hell is John F. Kennedy?

    The Karate Kid (1984)

Daniel: Wouldn't a fly swatter be easier?

The only really obvious omissions for me are Robocop and Field of Dreams. Good list otherwise, OP. I also love The Big Easy.
