Look at the bright side Steve , At least there is no claim that the disc is trying to drag the listener into black magic

Absolutely spot on. Stuns me how weak managers can be when it comes to these matters. There's genuine complaints and there's people that are (as they say on Scotland) ripping the pish. The genuine complaints are actually few and far between, and yet one manager I know constantly allows 'We'll do it as a one-off' special gestures... They're never just one-offs and the customers, let alone fraudsters, know all about how easy it is to get away with murder! You'd think management would be interested in profit protection...

Which was funny, because mine actually was defective, skipped horribly all the way through. Got a replacement from the CD place in Tallahassee, no extra charge.

I was working in a record store during the "Trip hop" trend... many people came back with their CD's: "My CD is scratched, I can hear the "clic's and pop's".

Mr. Hoffman, I actually preferred your work in "The Master" and "Before The Devil Knows You're Dead".

It would be interesting to see what "cable guy" made of your remastering of Crosby, Stills and Nash's debut album. Reduced bass compared with the last Rhino remaster, which has overwhelming bass.

I read a few of those gripes and all I gotta say is, "Tough crowd."

    I'd shoot a reply back,

"Thanks for interest in our product. Due to the First World
nature of your concern, we are enclosing a free one way
ticket to Iraq, our compliments. Enjoy your stay."

I think he's just generalizing and blaming somebody he knows does remastering for the whole loudness issue. I bet he's never even heard Steve's work. I finally got a copy of the Razor and Tie comp album of 70's music from a forum member. I know all of those songs very well. They have never sounded better, and this is coming from someone that prefers vinyl by far. That is one of the few CDs I still play.

Ha. I returned 3 consecutive CD copies of 'Use Your Illusion 1' back in 91 due to what I thought was pressing error distortion in 'Dead Horse' at the end of the intro. I later looked at the musician credits for said song in the inlay that read "Mike Clink: Nutcracker". Silly me!

Got a note asking why my mastering of the first SPIRIT album has no echo. Seems to have a lot of echo if you ask me! Weird.

Sometimes people are intimidated by those who are proficient and skilled.

Who are able to work on high level projects.

Which leads them to try to turn the tables.

Too bad you never had the pleasure of releasing Lou Reed's "Metal Machine Music". Your notes would have been epic!

Whew! many of these are amazing, sad, funny, and plain ridiculous.

  24. The Album too long or song too long reminds me of that bit in the movie Amadeus when Mozart is accused of using too many notes. I find the fake Judy Garland rather troubling - shame the buyer didn't say who they thought it might have been!

Still with all these complaints against the DCC's I'll save my money in future.
