Ahhh, mongo, my fellow denizen of the Cascadia Bioregion and Revel owner, thanks for the compliment. While I grew up hearing Olivia, Bread and England Dan on the radio, love 70's rock and listen (purposefully) to my share of camp and cheeze (the good kind) my musical tastes can easily be revealed by looking at my pix closely. You'll see the Miles Davis "Complete Plugged Nickel" box, Thelonious Monk and Grant Green vinyl, framed art of the Blue Note in NYC, framed art from the Empty Bottle in Chicago where we would go regularly for the "Festival Of Jazz and Improvised Music" (most would call it Free or Avant Garde Jaz) and a closer look will reveal music from the Art Ensemble to Ornette Coleman to John Zorn to Morton Feldman. I even started a thread on this forum for "Now Playing: Avant Garde, New Music and Free Improvisation". Also, I posted on the previous page here my love of bands like Sunn O))), Electric Wizard, Goatsnake etc etc. I'm much more likely to put on a Peter Brotzmann or Cecil Taylor LP than any audiophile approved Patricia Barber LP, and certainly more than Olivia Newton-John. Well, except for that one with "I Honestly Love You".....got a soft spot for that one. (Note, as I type this response I am listening to "Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats")
Dead cats, dead rats Can't see what they were at, all right Dead cat in a top hat, wow Sucking on the young man's blood Wishing he could come, yeah Sucking on the soldier's brain Wishing it would be the same Dead cat, dead rat Can't you see what they were at? Fat cat in a top hat Thinks he's an aristocrat Thinks he can kill and slaughter Thinks he can shoot my daughter Yeah right! Oh yeah! Oh right! Yeeah! Dead cats, dead rats Think they're an aristocrat Crap, now that's crap! (Sorry, couldn't resist.)
I was wondering the same thing, especially since it looks to be in a corner. That body and strings would "play along" in sympathetic vibration. Loves me some Cello though!
This a 360 degree + view of my room that my daughter set up as a panning video. If you have the latest version of Google Chrome Browser, you can click and move around the room for a look around.
We have several cats but only one (likely has more than a little Maine Coon in her) is crazy enough to get on top of my Meadowlarks...and then she eyes the top of the CD rack with bad intent. We had to move the the Boltz LP stand because she was using that as a springboard to get on top of the CD racks.
Your equipment and room are absolutely amazing looking. You are a blessed human being to have the desire, resources and love of music to build a system and beautiful room like that. I am not envious, just very pleased for you.
Thank you My aim was to keep just the amp, turntable, dac and RPi on the shelving not only because I like the simple, clean lines but also because the hard drive whirring away day 24/7 drives me to distraction!

Beautiful, well-thought out system and room - a perfect example of a haven for an audio/music/vinyl lover living within a relatively small space.
