Harman Kardon HK825 preamp, circa 1985. I still listen to this preamp a few days each week ...

I have a Harman Kardon pc200? Integrated amp mono. I want another one for a stereo setup. See them on eBay occasionally, I just haven't put a lot of effort into the bidding.

I love my Dynaco ST-70. It has been superseded by some single ended gear, but even now it is a magnificent amplifier.

I heard that the "updated" Dynaco ST-70 has begun production in Canada not long ago. A Canadian engineering firm bought the rights to Dynaco and Hafler. I am fine with gears made in Canada.

There have been quite a few Dynaco and Dynaco style amps in the last decade like Triode Electronics, Dynakits, etc...I was up on all things Dynaco a few years ago but not anymore. The only thing original about mine is the chassis. I built it using magnaquest output Transformers but the circuit is the original 7199 circuit even if the board and parts and rest of the amp are new.

I use a Hafler P225 which I fully modded with parts from Musical Concepts. Basically all parts except the case, transformer, heat sinks and MOSFETs have been replaced.

This could very well be my final amp. And lord knows I've owned more than a few.

My Crown DC 300A amp, made in Elkart, Indiana, which I suspect has a bad transformer as it produced some serious hum when I last connected it a few years ago ...

Nice! I still hate myself for selling my XL 280 in a moment of weakness.

There was no mention of the cost in the article. I doubt it would be much more than $2000 - $2500 ...

Here's a few preamplifiers that have served me well.

    Citation I and a C32. Far back left is a Pas3x on top of a Sansui pr330

Here's my Luxman CL-350 / M-1600 combo. I'm running them with vintage Rogers LS-7 speakers and they play beautifully together. Sorry for the crappy phone pic.
