I just purchased my 2d 1971 Sony STR-6055 receiver. Both are in daily use; one in my main stereo system and the new one in my computer audio system. Love the midrange on this amp. :)

The Harman Kardon Citation 22 is kind of attractive too ...

A more contemporary look and probably made in Japan ...

A major leap of faith on the purchase of a 46-year old receiver for sure ...

Yes I believe so. 12ax7 pair and 6V6GT pair. Maybe also a 5Y3 rectifier.

I'm sad my Pioneer Elite M91 power amp fried out, I'd like to get another but I don't think I want to spend the money on an old power amp that will most likely die the same death as the one I have.

I still have the C91 preamp and F91 tuner though.

I wouldn't mind picking up one of these for the right price

Has Pioneer terminated the Elite line? Even if it hasn't, I doubt it is still making comparable amps ...

Can you get the amp repaired?

I believe the amp below is the current iteration ...

Unfortunately, the absence of a tape loop prevents me from getting one.
This is also a Class D amp. Is this new model still made in the UK? Is Cyrus a part of Mission as it was back in the early 90's ...

    Interesting.

The thing I like best of all in mine is the fabulous built in phono stage, both MM & MC.

    Tremendous build quality.

I keep being seduced by s new valve (tube) amp, but can't bring myself to do it:

For my modest system and less than ideal listening space the Cyrus is ideal,

I wish I would have kept my father's
Sony STR-6060FW with the wood case. All the music I heard when I was kid poured through these with a pair of Acoustic Research AR-5 speakers
