That's not a McLaren. Go to 00:22, and the prancing horse is at the top right of the driver side fender. It's a Ferrari. Looks like the F40.

The car that was shown most of the time was another driver in a Ferrari F40 (my favourite Ferrari) but then a quick cut to Nick in his F1 GTR crashing. Ouch. That's a RARE car right there. George Harrison only had a (almost) standard F1 and that was as rare as hens teeth. C'mon, Nick, if you can't take care of 'em don't bloody drive 'em!

Oh, and btw, I hope Nick's OK too.

I don't know if it's as simple as that, it's a 20 year old car that was only made in teeny tiny numbers but I'm sure Mclaren will help him out. If they can afford it after this years forthcoming Mclaren/Honda F1 season.

  11. At least the on-site medics didn't need to advise him to... Scream Thy Last Scream?

The car that the camera is following is a Ferrari F40, but that's not the car Nick Mason is driving. He is behind the F40 and they cut to him in the McLaren when he goes cross country

Well it does appear he'll need A New Machine (part 1).

Perhaps Nick should slow down and consider taking up more Ficticious Sports.

    Glad he's OK!

I have no doubt McLaren will be able to put it back as it was, but it certainly won't be inexpensive to do so. Given enough money, any car can be fixed, even if you have to fabricate parts from scratch that can't otherwise be sourced. Since McLaren presumably has the original engineering drawings for the F1 GTR (and probably some of the original engineering staff who designed and built it), what might be much more difficult tasks for other limited-production supercars are already sorted.

It could have been worse - I'm sure he's glad it was the McLaren he crashed rather than his Ferrari GTO.
