No "Promised Land" and no "It Wasn't Me" - despite how Chuck always "sold it" as the set to buy - no, I never thought it was complete and I've never used it as my "Chuck" fix.

"Run Rudolph Run" is a fun, but I'd rather hear it on a Christmas compilation. "Wee Wee Hours" is pretty nice, but it's not one of the core achievements of Berry's legend. And "My Ding-a-Ling" is just crap. If I had to program a 30-track CD, I'd swap those three out for "Havana Moon," "Oh Baby Doll" and "Come On."

I consider Run Rudolph Run and Promised Land essential. I also miss Little Marie which charted and I like No Money Down as well.

You Never Can Tell is also missing but I don't like it as much as the 4 tracks I mentioned above.

I've decided to leave it at 4 CDs, but need to cut a couple songs to fit.
The first 3 CDs are OK, but the 4th runs a bit long.

I just found out they are going to reissue Chuck's Chess and Mercury albums on SHM-CD in Japan this June. Most of the albums will contain bonus tracks.

In addition, Wee Wee Hours #10 and No Money Down #8 charted on the R&B charts and Broken Arrow #108 and Jaguar And Thunderbird #109 didn't make the top 100.

After not working on it for almost a year. I thought I'd finally get back to finalizing the tracklist for my 4CD CB comp.

These are approx. how long each disc is

    CD 1 : 79.5 min.
    CD 2 : 80.2 min.
    CD 3 : 80.9 min.
    CD 4 : 95.6 min.

Would like to tighten up Disc 4.
Is anything over 80 min. too much? Even if it's less than one minute over?

I would definitely include "Downbound Train" as it's easily one of his best and most unknown songs.

I found this 28 track track Charly compilation.

It omits these 3 tracks from the Great-Twenty Eight.

    Havana Moon
    Oh Baby Doll
I Want To Be Your Driver

However, it adds these 3 tracks.

    No Money Down
    You Never Can Tell
    Promised Land

As one who adores novelty records, I can tell you firsthand that the song "My Ding-a-ling" was a big sensation back in '72! It was and still is hilarious! Its double entendres appealed to and tickled the sensibilities of millions of AM (MW) pop radio listeners such as myself in a manner that most youngsters today cannot understand. I do, however, think the song would be woefully out of place on "The Great 28". I too think that all of Berry's charting hits should have been featured in a double compact disc set. I have and love the BF box... It's truly great!
