Some artists have plenty of hits but one song stands above the rest as their signature song or at least signature for a certain period in their career.
But some have two that seem to be equals.
    Example
    Heart- Barracuda and Magic Man.

Here are a few I thought of:

Golden Earring: Radar Love and Twilight Zone
America: Horse with No Name and Ventura Highway
Bangles: Walk Like an Egyptian and Eternal Flame
Byrds: Mr. Tambourine Man and Turn! Turn! Turn!
Glen Campbell: Wichita Lineman and Rhinestone Cowboy
Chic: Good Times and Le Freak
Cyndi Lauper: Girls Just Want to Have Fun and Time After Time
Men at Work: Down Under and Who Can It Be Now?
Dolly Parton: Jolene and I Will Always Love You
Righteous Brothers: Unchained Melody and You've Lost That Loving Feeling
Kenny Rogers: The Gambler and Lady
Tears for Fears: Shout and Everybody Wants to Rule the World

Many of these had more hits than these but these two seem to rise above the rest. I figured they qualified based on the OP, which listed the valid choice of Heart who also had many other hits including two number ones (Alone and These Dreams) not seen as "signature" because Barracuda and Magic Man have defined their legacy.

I gotta disagree here. "Peace of Mind" is well-known, but I think "More Than a Feeling" is Boston's sole signature song - nothing else competes with it...

    I'd disagree with all three.

If nothing else, Prince death made it clear that "Purple Rain" is now his signature song!

Does this thread want artists with two clear "signature songs" and no other competitors?

Because there are quite a few artists who have more than two potential "signature songs"...

This thread strongly pointed toward "Your Song" as EJ's true "signature song":

    Elton John's Signature Song

With 9 songs in the poll, "Your Song" got 49% of the vote! Not a majority but a really strong plurality - "Rocket Man" was 2nd with 17% of the vote.

This thread looked at EJ's top 3:

What are Elton John's 3 signature songs?

Unsurprisingly, "Your Song" won, with "Candle in the Wind" 2nd and "Rocket Man" 3rd. Funny that "Candle" came in 4th in the first poll I linked!

Then there was a thread that expanded to five signature songs:

What are Elton John's top 5 signature songs?

It got shut down too quickly to amass meaningful votes...

Not to mention Funeral for a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding, for one (or two).

I think Alone could be argued for those who weren't around in the 70s... that song is one of those "go to" songs for every tv talent show contest to try and impress the judges. Even These Dreams could be argued too.

Heart had so many hits that it's hard to narrow it down.

To me someone like Golden Earring wins this thread. Radar Love and Twilight Zone are both equally signature songs, as well as from two different styles and eras.
