Not wanting to butt into someone else's argument, but in fairness to purple jim (personal digs aside)
It is a discussion forum and you should be able voice an opinion that goes against the party line without being accused of thread crapping.

I think people have more of a problem with how he did it. He basically said, "wow, you have terrible taste!"

Sure, there's no need to get personal over such things.

Yeah, and he's actually wrong as well; the new Kelly Lee Owens album is great!

That would be fair if he didn't do this sort of thing all the time. Very tiresome.

  11. Im giving Triplicate three spots.

And the new Jesse Colter produced by Lenny Kaye will make the list.

Curious what any of the Kelly Lee Owens fans think of the new Lydia Ainsworth record, they seem to have a little overlap. I'm honestly not a fan of either, but they both do provide some alternative to the more mainstream electro-pop releases by artists like Lorde, and I guess you could maybe make a connection to Kate Bush in the stylings of Lydia Ainsworth. There's a couple pretty cool videos in support of this one, title track below ...

Meanwhile, been listening to Real Estate's In Mind every night since it came out and it just keeps getting better. Might even be my favorite of theirs. Those moaning about how music has sucked ever since Creedence broke up should give this one a listen.

Guys, take it easy. Let's be friendly. The purpose of this thread is to discover new releases; threadcrapping certainly does not fit that bill. People all have opinions. Please respect others' and go somewhere else if you wish to insult people.

Expressing a dissenting opinion is fine, but why not be civil and express your opinion in non-loaded terms? Maybe people will take you seriously then as well.

I'm a fan and have her CD in my pile of 'to listen to'...she's now on the same label Grimes was on prior to her latest which is fitting.

I like the Flaming Lips okie melody pretty good I guess - kind of miss having any guitar and drums at all - it isn't the most memorable thing they've ever done but it is always at least good - but I'm betting on the Magnetic Fields from the clips I've heard so far - it's coming in the mail at some point

It is not about expressing an opinion for or against and Album that has been recommended. In this case, however slight it might appear, there was a criticism of the poster of that album and that along with thread crapping is just rude and inappropriate.

I thought Fear Fun was okay and his last one was pretty good but this album is totally next level territory for him. Blowing me away. Great little production touches too. Just ordered the CD.

"On RAYS’ debut album, the band spins eleven tunes of wiry, urgent post-punk, one foot planted firmly in the nihilistic apathy of 70 & 80’s punk (Wire, Electric Eels, Pere Ubu, Eno, Television The Fall), Australian punk past & present (UV Race, Terry, Victims, Babeez), and the addictive strum of 80’s & 90’s New Zealand/Flying Nun pop; all of whom have found their own way to meld the ferocity & thuggery of punk with a singular melodic voice".
