We should start a thread to see who has the highest number of unwatched hours of DVR material backlogged.

Literally just finished episode 8 (been slowly watching season 2 over the last week or so).
I think you should give it another shot. It's a great season, with quite a few bits of comic relief. Sometimes I don't think it's even intentional.

Season 2 definitely had to grow on me. The biggest thing I had to get over is the fact that Billy Bob Thornton wasn’t in it.

Season 2 was TV at its very best IMO. Took me a few episodes to click but once I did I adored every minute.

It really is a great season. Even though I've seen it and know how it ends, I still am tempted to watch the last 2 episodes. I've slowly researching season 2.

Yeah, that was almost jump = shark. A bad decision using that deus ex machina device.

Personally, I loved it, was a great diversion and also represented a real 'seventies vibe.

Eh, we argued over this to the point of overkill earlier in this thread. It is what it is. I hated it.

I'm not arguing. I loved it. Added a layer of depth by mirroring the overthetopness of much of the actions in the battling outfits.

Let's hope the season 3 soundtrack will be as good as season 2. Season 2 had some amazing music!

Obviously you can hate it. To me, it was part of the decade. I think thats why they wrote it in.

I was watching a thing about it last night and I didn't realise/had forgotten that the UFO was also in the first episode, it's what causes the guy to get run down as he is looking up at the lights. For some reason I forgot all about that when it appears at the end.

So in a way it starts everything off and ends everything.

I try to forget the whole UFO thing myself - it spoiled an otherwise excellent season.

I get it splits opinion, I though it was quite cool really. If you don't like it then I think it's really easy to ignore as a concept as it just acts like a distraction rather than a major plot device, so I don't think it 'spoils' anything as such. The episode would still work much the same way anyway without it, they could have just had him reaching his gun eventually.

But it was a major plot device! The UFO actively interfered in the big fight scene at the end to tip the outcome of the fight. I could have lived with the UFO thing if it was just a quirky background mystery, but not this.

Anyway, argh! I don't want to get sucked into rehashing this yet again. Must...stop...now.

Without the UFO, there would be no story. The Gehrhart never would of been hit by the car.

That was my point from the beginning. She was looking back at it when she hit the guy in the road.

There are many other plot devices that could have been employed other than a freaking flying saucer to have the Gehrhart guy run out onto the road and get hit by the car.
