    I have different Autobahn and TEE (EMI Electrola),
    and a different Computer World (WG Target) : 86.1 / 90.8 / 78.2 / 81 / 74.5 / 68.2 / 65.6

    There is more than one "original" mastering for these albums, that's for sure.

    Who would even attempt unpicking all the mastering variants, not I :)

    I did purchase one of the Digital Master 2009 remix editions of The Man Machine with an outer slipcase although that was to be the only one.

    The Man Machine (Klingklang) A981035-01 Manufactured by Optimal Media Production
    EAC;
    98.1 / 98.1 / 98.1 / 98.1 / 98.1 / 98.1
    DR;
    9 / 9 / 11 / 10 / 13 / 11

    Turn the dial
    I have always had a fondness for Radio-Activity as it reminds me of night times listening to radio (Lo-Fi Luxembourg)
    in the 1970’s on a vintage passed-down valve (kind of portable) radio, wish I still had that set.

    Thanks for the IFPI prompt ‘c-eling’

    ‘ifpi 1423’ so date wise (from info gathered) 1994 + ?
    [IMG]

    A similar discogs entry with ifpi 1424 without images;
    Kraftwerk - Radio-Activity

    Apparently the first two numbers ‘14’ indicate EMI Records pressing plant, Greenbridge, Swindon.

    I (still) have all the 2009 remasters on CD. And I don't like them at all. What you call "dynamics", sounds to me as an unnaturally bassy, processed and compressed sound. Probably the vinyl sounds better, as it usually does. But on CD I definitely prefer the original issues that I own: Autobahn, The Man Machine, Computerwelt & The Mix.

    Very interesting, my original Autobahn cd ( Kling Klang ‎– CDP 564-7 46153 2, EMI Electrola , SONOPRESS B-2644/ 7461532 / barcode 0 777746 153276 made in West Germany
    has the same DR but lower peak levels: 59.9 % /50.8 % / 51.5 % / 50.8 % / 40.2 %

    1986 cd Germany Radio-Aktivität
    44.6 % / 61.4 % / 57.2 % / 82.4 % / 18.4 % / 51.3 % / 12.7 % / 72.2 % / /43.7 %/ 40.5 %/ 46.0 / 56.8
    DR: 16/ 11 / 11 / 12 / 4 / 12 / 12 / 10 / 13 / 11 / 10 / 11

    I also have the original (Capitol) EMI Swindon CDP 746744 2 2 that you have,
    The Capitol cd is a bit louder than the German cd , I like them both

    Trans – Europa Express - original German cd has different mastering than the (Capitol) 746473 @ 1 1-3-18 NL

    Trans – Europa Express - German cd 1994 REISSUE CDP 564-7-461332 KLING KLANG:
    98.0 % / 98.0 % / 98.0 % / 98.0 % / 98.0 % / 98.0 % / 56.9 % / 92.0 %
    DR: 15 / 15 / 15 / 16 / 12 / 12 / 10 / 14
    the German cd divided to 8 tracks and not 7 like the Capitol NL cd

    Looking at the ones which have an ‘ifpi’ code, I have three variants in style;

    Large stylized ifpi codes as the image posted;
    Radio-Activity - ifpi 1423
    Computer World – ifpi 1423
    The larger codes seem to match other 1995 releases (so far)

    Small stylized ifpi code (not able to scan)
    Electric Cafe – ifpi 1431
    TEE – ifpi 1554 (Holland)
    Autobahn – ifpi 1422
    The smaller code style match the 1994 UK Swindon Syd Barrett releases with bonus tracks, Barrett and The Madcap Laughs.

    The Man Machine as mentioned is a later replacement with an ifpi code consisting of letters and numbers ifpi AAH28 (Holland?) without ‘NL’ although luckily retains the early mastering (DR).

    At least I can now be certain that ‘The Mix’ was my first Kraftwerk CD.

    This looks a good (understatement) resource for IFPI Codes;

    I found out that the Beautiful track SPACELAB from my Man Machine cd has interruption , The sound is interrupted /cut from 2:12 -2:14 .
    My Man Machine cd: 077774 60392 8 UK:CDEMS 1520 ///EMI United Kingdom
    the cd is original not a remastered.

    you can hear it clearly with headphones or from your Left speaker,
    I think that this interruption does not appear on every mastering of Man Machine,
    I listened to youtube and found 1 clip of this track with the interruption and one without/
    do you have this glitch on your cds ?

    the one with the interruption

    the one without the interruption
    Kraftwerk- Spacelab

    Thank you Cory :), you saved me from buying the original US Capitol cd which I saw in one of our stores in Tel Aviv. Maybe the German cd Die Mensch-Maschine from 1986 doesn't has the interruption.

    I am glad that I could share the glitch with you :D

    I promised not to share anymore glitches on songs so people wouldn't have problem to concentrate in those songs but I shared this one becouse I wanted to find out which cd doesn't have the glitch.
    I hope I will not be sued in the un security council becouse of this :)

    Well not recently enough to mention given that most of my listening is late of an evening with headphones = So I am embarrassed by this also.

    Just had another listen to the cd (with headphones) and notice two other areas;
    Spacelab – 1.38 minutes a click in the right channel
    The Model – 3.36 minutes, she’s posing for consumer products now and then (left channel)

    I thought maybe I had recorded a previous edition to cassette at some point but unfortunately this does not appear to be the case,
    at least I cannot locate such a cassette not that I would have known the matrix anyways, other than knowing it was The Man Machine and not Die Mensch-Maschine.

    So a quest begins...
