    1) True. This is the Cambridge player using the same video hardware as the 105. I don't have a 4K UHD TV and I also don't watch with my glasses on ;-).
    2) I think the upsampling is variable.
    3) True.

    Here it is....... :)!

    UDP-205

4K Ultra HD Audiophile Blu-ray Disc Player

Best-in-Class Audio Performance, Dual ESS ES9038PRO Sabre Pro DACs

    Reference Quality Video with HDR

    4K UHD, Blu-ray, 3D, DVD, DVD-Audio, SACD and CD

    Price:$1,299

This is one of the features I'm really interested in:

    HDMI Audio Jitter Reduction:

The UDP-205 features a high-stability, high-precision HDMI clock and a special HDMI audio jitter reduction circuit. This unique design significantly reduces jitter and eliminates timing errors, allowing you to enjoy your music with increased accuracy when you use the audio-only HDMI output port for connecting the audio signal.

Pretty sure that CA's ATF 24/192 upsampling in the CXU is non defeatable.
    Like in their DacMagic.....see here.....http://everythingaudionetwork.blogspot.com.au/2010/07/audiophile-review-cambridge-audio.html

"The front panel includes a selector button for the inputs and a button to select the digital filters and phase. The three user-selectable filters — Linear Phase, Minimum Phase and Steep — are claimed to offer subtle differences in sonic presentation.
The DacMagic utilizes one DAC per channel, the**Wolfson 24-bit WMB8740 chip. The always-on upsampling circuit is termed ATF (adaptive time filtering) which incorporates a 32-bit Texas instrument DSP chip that performs its upsampling functions, including creating**“new data in the temporal domain, dramatically reducing digital jitter."

And I believe the 752BD as well............maybe BrotherRael can confirm.

Apparently CA now have ATF2 which upsamples to 24/384!!!!

Maybe you are confusing with the selectable digital filters I assume the CXU also has.

Interesting to see that the new OPPO UDP 205 is now offering selectable digital filters too!!!

    See my above post.

The 752BD upsamples across the board alright. Not sure about the CXU.

I'm very encouraged by the specs, but concerned about the price. Does Oppo ever offer a trade-in program?

Totally superficial comment: the initial photos made the 205 appear bigger, but it's not even as wide or deep as my BDP-95 and only .8 in taller. It does weigh 6 lbs more, though!

If you are concerned about the price, I'm sure there are more expensive alternatives :agree:

Indeed, one can spend in accordance with one's lifestyle. Having just put the last of my divorce attorney's invoices on my credit card, I'm not exactly in the greatest position to buy this thing. On the other hand, if I can find ways to spend upteen thousand dollars on something I didn't want and can't afford, I can certainly find a way to spend $1299 on something I do want and can't afford. How's that for logic? :)

No multichannel support from USB input is disappointing to me.

Moderating wise guys posters like you! ;)

I was putting that out for anyone that hadn't heard. I know that's a big issue with some of us Deadheads, since Grateful Dead releases are almost all in HDCD.

I was hoping to buy an Oppo so I could replace some of that vinyl with hi res playback from from downloads. And when the Grateful Dead Video Box gets released, I'll have the latest video playback format!

Not sure what your concern about the 205s price is as it's the same as the 105D at $1,299. I could understand if you were concerned if the cost had gone up but fortunately it hasn't which is good news. Oppo has never offered a trade in program and I don't see it happening in the future. With the excellent resale prices of used Oppo players selling it on the used market shouldn't be that hard.

As far as size the 205 is the exact same size as the 105/105D. The 95 is listed on the Oppo site as 16 7/8" W x 12 1/4"D x 4"H. The 205 is 16.8"W x 12.2"D x 4.8"H which is essentially the same width and depth as the 95. The 205 is a little over 4.5 lbs. heavier than the 105/105D. I'd say some of that is due to the heavier chassis of the 205.

Below is a link posted on AVS by Oppo "guru" Bob Pariseau who is incredibly knowledgeable on Oppo players and is always ready to help out. The link discusses "Understanding the HDMI Audio Jitter Reduction Circuit in the OPPO UDP-205" and is very informative and gets deep into the technical aspects of the 205's Jitter Reduction Circuitry.
