This is awesome, I still have my 3d glasses from the last time they played in my area. Have to assume they're just reusing the existing 3d video material developed for tours which would be fine with me. The Spacelab will be floating in your living room.

  2. How is the CD version going to be 3D exactly and how does it differ from the current Catalogue 8 studio album set?

I would guess they are releasing live versions of the 8 albums recorded at shows where they featured a whole album live. The concerts were billed as Kraftwerk 3-D, as I recall.

You're right about the price being bad.

Crossing my fingers that the stereo tracks are 24/96.

  10. So in summary there will be:

A Blu-ray and a DVD (same content but both 2D/3D compatible if you have 3D TV/disc facility) of highlights (77 mins), both only available together!
A double LP same as above
A 9 LP set of each album recorded 'live'
8 CD set (audio only) containing live versions of the complete album catalogue

    Anything else?

  11. This, which is most likely Blu-ray and not DVD-A

This is what I have been wondering as well.

  14. The CD's are just the audio. The 4 Blu-ray set is the only version featuring ALL 8 studio albums performed live with both visuals AND audio. There is a "best of" available on Blu-ray and DVD (together), as well as CD and LP.

The rendition of The Robots is very cool. Defininately no rehash of either The Mix or Minimum Maximum.

Awesome news!! I'm definitely in for the 8 CD set. I may be in for the Blu-Ray / DVD combo too, I don't think I'd sit and watch all 8 videos more than once but a highlights set sounds fantastic! I did catch them in concert twice in the last four years though and I'd been hopeful that something like this would eventually get released.

  21. I'm thinking along the same lines as you here. In my case I also have a BD player attached to TV (where else?) but my CD/DVD player is connected to my main audio system. So I'm wondering if the content of the BD and DVD's is truly identical, I could watch the BD with sound 'off' for sharper picture quality but listen to the DVD played through my amp / speakers for 'maximum' effect?! Lol. My BD/TV setup is not 'surround' and isn't connected to my audio setup, just a lowly soundbar (which is all I need for most of the films I watch normally).

I just read news about that few minutes ago. Another missed opportunity to include the first three (or four) albums. Ugh...

[Edit:] Oh wait, they're complete re-recordings? Sorry, I'm blind.
[Edit2:] Sorry, guys. I thought this is a re-release of the original albums.
This re-recording project looks pretty interesting. Shame I don't have money for either the Sgt Pepper deluxe box or this 3D box... or both.^^

  23. I'm amazed how anyone can believe that those three 'lost' albums will ever make a reappearance in shiny new remastered versions. It ain't gonna happen any day soon.
