Didn't look like it to me. She got out of the tub in one uncut sequence and you could see her quite well as she was walking out the bathroom door (with strategically placed tape on her breasts, and I'd imagine, regions nether). Besides, that's exactly how I pictured she would look in my mind! :D

I kept thinking, "Are we gonna have a crossover show this season? Mike Erhmentrout is gonna be killer in this show!"

Bit formulaic I thought. We've got a nice cop - check, a businessman in above his head - check, a blundering criminal - check, and sibling rivalry - check (and a couple of bodies).

Prologue was interesting as to how that fits in.

But close - instead we had an improbably accurate falling object!

    Clearly a body double...

Clearly how? Is MEW herself lying when she confirmed it? She even got into shape for it!

Plenty of actresses have denied using body doubles even when it was obvious.

So you chose to dismiss the available evidence and double down with a contrary assertion for which there is no evidence. Okay...

Available evidence? You mean taking her word for it? She fakes sincerity for a living. I have it on DVR. I guess I could re-watch that scene 50-100 times (would make me a perv?).

Although she may not have appeared naked in any other part before, she has shown some skin. I doubt she would have any issue doing the scene in question.

Anyway, I enjoyed the first episode. I wonder if the brothers end up forming an alliance by the end?

The upcoming preview with the male sheriff now makes for two actors from "Boardwalk Empire" in this. You can't go wrong relying on that show for your cast.

    Thoughts:
Carrie Coon is having a moment, what with this show and "The Leftovers" on HBO.
When I hear Ewan McGregor as Ray, I hear William H. Macy as Jerry Lundegaard.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead is a badass (metaphorically), and a pretty good shot.
This is one of those shows where the music is a character. Music supervisors are really earning it these days.
Can we give Michael Stuhlbarg his own show pleeeze? (and I wonder how often he gets mistaken for Joaquin Phoenix)
We're all gonna know a lot more about bridge now.
    "Let me flip a b-ward"???

What was that weird music used during the house search and where has it been used before? I feel like I've heard it in another TV show or movie.

I love that I can count on a vibe with this show. It starts slow and methodically. Gives a few brief introductions...and then chaos ensues. It isn't unusual for me to say out loud a "...oh YAH..." while this is on.

That's what I thought too. But there was. Those sneaky bastards. The old man, the stepdad of the lady cop was watching tv. And what was on that tv, for just a brief moment, looked eerily similar to last year's massacre at Sioux Falls when light from a spaceship shined down on them.

Perhaps you could post a continuous animated GIF of that scene so that we could all weigh the evidence. Maybe a 2nd one as well where you a flip a b-ward and she lowers back into the tub.
