I've recently been listening to Sarah Van Etten and Iris DeMent. I'm finding Sandy vibes in their music.

This thread just reminded me that it's been a while since I listened to Zeppelin's "Battle Of Evermore." I will fix that today.

Just got it on Monday and finished it yesterday. It's a great read but very sad. I've been listening to Sandy all day today (so far) and appreciating her music all the more. I can't recommend this book highly enough!

Her song Next Time Around written to and about Jackson C. Frank, whom she dated from Buffalo, NY is beautiful. When I listen to Jackson's song, Dialogue aka I Want to Be Alone, which he wrote to her, I think of Sandy.

Andy Smith .....Like a good pinch of snuff......

As an animal-lover, it has a most unsatisfactory ending; they never say what happened to her dog. I went to Mick Houghton's book promo a few years back at the Off The Shelf festival. I mention this in the meet & greet Q&A at the end. He seemed genuinely interested that I'd picked up on that. (He said her dog was adopted by a local farmer who used to look after it when they toured. Lived out his days there).
