Robert Plant's official website simply says Any time now...
    What does that mean?
I suspect a Desert Trip announcement.

Yes, more than likely finished recording and working on the mix.

Probably that secret album he's been recording over the years with Jimmy Page, JPJ, and Jason Bonham............

Clearly a reference to the 50th anniversary reunion tour of 2018. :hide::laugh:

If not the 50th reunion, I pray Jimmy and the Black Crowes to head out again. So.....here we go.

"God. Bring the Black Crowes together again. Jimmy. Please tour with the Black Crowes. If you get an itch, make an album."

What he has been dipping his toe in for a while now..probably a pure blues album...think Stones/Blue & Lonesome.

I doubt a Zep reunion would be teased exclusively on RobertPlant.com. I also recall Desert Trip acts coordinating their announcements in unison last year. Probably a new RP record, which I'd dig.

Unless someone knows something I don't, I think a combination of Azoff chopping off Goldenvoice's two bigger potential cojones for such a thing---Eagles and Mac---plus GV using Petty for a DIFFERENT festival means a DTII this year seems very unlikely, MINUS something insane like Zep. (then add Bruce, Elton, Stevie Wonder or Billy Joel, that'd work...but two-night rather than three---can't think of many other potential anchors for such a thing, maybe Clapton? U2 if willing to stretch the time parameters past 70s?)

Watched a few interviews from last few years of him and he seems like a real down to earth guy. He's obviously a musicologist. Knows his stuff. A very good interview. But what really surprised me was how nice this guy is. Kudos to him for having such a demeanor after all he's been through.

Funny, I'm a huge fan, but I always found him to be a pompous ass, and disrespectful to other musicians, including Page, Jones, and Coverdale.

I was in Memphis in 2007 finishing up research for my Big Star 33 1/3 book. My 14 year old son and I strolled through the lobby of the Peabody Hotel late on a Sunday summer afternoon and found ourselves standing next to Plant. My son asked me if it was okay to ask him for his autograph (he's a also big fan - at the time his cell phone ringtone was When The Levee Breaks). I told him sure, just be polite and respectful. Here's how it went:

my son: Excuse me, Mr. Plant. I'm a huge fan. Would you mind signing this for me? (holds out the back of a postcard of Graceland)
Plant: Sure, what's your name? (Plant was very gracious.)
    son: Alex
Plant: And what brings you to Memphis, Alex?
son: Well, my mom is here on business and my dad and I are going to check out some old music stuff. (We were spending the next day at Ardent.)
Plant (with a big smile): Well Alex, you just checked out some old music stuff!

What a great moment. And the next day at Ardent while photographing Jody Stephens behind the legendary drum kit he used for the Big Star records his phone rang and it was Plant. He was thinking about coming by to hang out. Evidently he loves soaking up musical history spots (he had gone to Graceland that day - couldn't have been the first time). A year later I was in Clarksdale, Mississippi and it seemed like Plant had spent so much time there over the years hanging out, staying in a motel on an old plantation, and soaking up the vibe that his presence was a non-event.

Not that I have met loads of rock stars, but for people of his stature, he had to be the nicest.

I met him too, and do not share your observation about Robert. Jimmy Page, on the other hand, was a Prince of a man. In fact, he all but apologized for Robert.
