DCC Archive CBS Mastersound LP's = CRAP???

Just picked up the half speed Mastersound LP of A Chorus Line and it's so bright I'm amazed I have paint left on the walls and the bass is severely anemic compared to my original LP.

I love how they so proudly discuss how digital recoriat 44.1/16 or 48/16 and that's so much better because analog master tapes have a response of just 30 Hz to 15 KHz. (!)

I do have to give it to CBS though; the pressing is dead silent with no groove noise whatsoever; pity what's on it is… off.

The same is unfortunately true of Barbra Streisand's Greatest Hits, Vol. 2, which sounds like a 1984 CD played through a Sony CDP-101.
