Just picked this up. A beauty in what seems to be fully working condition. I know folks like these 70's receivers but there's no manual on HiFi engine. Nice phono section but I get a buzz if I use an external phono preamp. Just wondered if the turntable should be grounded to the Sansui instead of the preamp. It's huge and around 50 lbs.
German first pressing of Second Helping, by the way.

Enjoy. The 6500 drives my 4 vintage Large Advents in the livingroom.

And beautiful, and fine sounding too. Enjoy that QRX 7500 and it's Vario-Matrix goodness. It's very nice. Also, that simulated Quad position is superb if you have 4 speakers and great on most Stereo sources. And awesome Sansui goodness.

Sweet. Do you have phono pre grounded to Sansui?

It's great when hooked straight to the Sansui but not when connected through the external phono stage. The ground won't reach the Sansui so I'll have to move the phono stage and try again.

Love to have one of those Sansui quad players before I'm done. Might have to add that to the bucket list!

I might put it up for sale. Much as they look great, my Rega Brio-R is preferable as the main amp.

Anyone know if this has a mono button? The manual for the 7001 shows the mono settings as the 2 channel switch and the stereo setting as QS synthesizer, although that seems to be for converting 2 channel to 4 channel. It sounds like stereo when I have it set to 2 channel.
