  5. The other thread was basically becoming a 'Monday Morning Quarterback' session on the why's and what for's of the man's death, and a rather strange first person channeling.

In short, it was getting creepy and out of hand.

  7. Chris was great, he rocked and still does if you play his and his colleagues music.

The topic of this thread is the untimely death of Chris Cornell.
The topic of this thread is not "Why was the other thread closed"

....I was in my teens when Seattle took over the music world and I connected with it right away. It was MY music. A killer mix of my dad's classic rock, that I grew up on, and my punk rock. Soundgarden was always my favorite and I still play those albums as much as anything. This hurts bad.

I played Euphoria Morning all day yesterday. That album has always been a favorite, but it takes on a different meaning now and forever more.

I'm personally spent, not re-posting all my thoughts in this thread, so I'll just say RIP to a rock hero and an incredible voice. Forget why he's gone...he's gone, and it sucks.

  18. Apparently, this new thread is limited to discussing the great Chris Cornell resting in peace. So I hope he does.

I never really considered Soundgarden to be "grunge". I always thought of them as a hard rock band that happen to come from Seattle. Big fan of everything from "Ultramega Ok" through "Superunknown". I saw them once when Lolapalooza hit Moosic, PA (first ever music event at Montage).

Great band with a fantastic voice.

I was just looking up the chords for "Fell On Black Days" a few days ago. Great song. . . not many people can pull off a song in 6/4 so it sounds natural. Chris Cornell was a major talent and Rock music is poorer with him gone.

    Rest In Peace Chris Cornell.

I wasn't aware of how many other musicians, a very wide community, that his music, talents, and thoughts touched.

Deepest sympathies to his family and close friends.

I've been playing everything I have of Chris', as well as anywhere he's made an appearance, since yesterday. Louder Than Love, Euphoria Morning, The Singles soundtrack, Screaming Trees - Uncle Anesthesia, Alice In Chains - Sap.

I have yet to play Badmotorfinger. It's my favorite and when I play it, I'm going to get hit hard.
