this is a very welcome announcement. I wonder what the sources are for some of this. I know I saw a Zodiac reissue announcement recently about being struck from master tapes. Something like that for Electric Prunes would be great. I have an original mono that is a bit beat up, but comparing it to a modern day reissue (not sure who) was night and day. The original was lively and in your face. The reissue sounded like a work 4th gen bootleg compared to it.

This is great news! I hope it means we'll see "Happy Sad" and maybe even the S/T Tim Buckley too at some point.
They seem to be out of print from the Music On Vinyl versions licensed for Europe from a few years ago.

I'd pick up all three if they're done to the usual high Rhino standard, RTI pressing, AAA, and nice Stoughton jackets,
like most of the other Elecktra and Atlantic titles that have been reissued.

 I wonder if the album jacket for Goodbye...Hello will replicate the original gatefold or the later "Shorepak"-style jacket.

I'm not that familiar with the Shorepak style, how does that differ?

The Bullmoose preorder says "50th Anniversary Edition Vinyl gatefold on 180G vinyl Produced by Jerry Yester & Jac Holzman."

Same front and back cover artwork as in the original album jacket, but when you open it up it looks like this....

I wonder if we'll get this in the UK as we've just had a vinyl reissue only a few weeks ago, which I've been meaning to buy but haven't yet. I've struggled to get a nice copy of this even though I have excellent condition UK originals of all the other 60s Dusty albums. I've had a couple of Philips originals of Dusty in Memphis but have given them away due to not good enough condition. Even the CD I got in the late 90s had quiet digital interference / clicks which stopped me playing it.

I was going to get the new UK reissue soon, but I think it's a GZ pressing and I prefer the US sleeve. Aesthetically it would pleasing to have it on the Atlantic label too, so I'll hold out for this upcoming Rhino reissue.

Does one really need a mono pressing of Alice's Restaurant?

Well, this is all interesting, regarding the mono versions of the songs, but in all honesty, I find it far more FUN, to just pull my old original 45's from the shelf and load them into my SEEBURG HF100R jukebox
(<<< see my avatar to the left) and pushing A-1 and the rest!

Not many 60s compilations can boast a track list that includes the Incredible String Band AND Anita Kerr.

A few days ago, I ordered this Tuesday's (7/11) reissues from Bullmoose since Amazon isn't carrying them. I guess its one of those brick & mortar stores only and since Barnes & Noble still has stores, their website also has the releases. I hate the packaging that I received a previous Rhino Rocktober release in, so I'll never order from B&N again.

The discs should be here early next week. I grabbed Beau Brummels, Love, The Association and The Young Rascals. I'm not buying any of the compilations, so I can't help with those. Eventually I'll buy all of the reissues except the Van Morrison and the Judy Collins.

I'll crack them open this week and report what I can find out about mastering and pressing plants based on deadwax codes. Hopefully I can help people on here decide if they want them based on any info I can provide. I'm buying them anyway, regardless of who cut them or where they were pressed.

I'll be the test subject since others dipped their toe in the ZZ Top box and let us know mastering and plant info.

It's not clear from the press release if 'Goodbye and Hello", "Triangle" and "Electric Prunes" are in mono, anyone knows?

I got three out of my first four in the mail just now:

    Love - Love

    Beau Brummels - Triangle

    The Association - Insight Out

Both the Beau Brummels and The Association have tip-on jackets. Love is in the common type of jacket today.

All three have the Summer of Love logo hype stickers as well as a second hype sticker that says 50th Anniversary - MONO - and highlight songs or other info, like 180grm for Love.... Colored vinyl is noted accordingly on the second hype sticker. The shrinkwrap is very tight on all three.

Yes, the Beau Brummels is in mono @Doctorwu!

All three are pressed at what looks like the coding for Record Industry. All three are cut by Ian Sefchick and some sides are marked with the old-time Mastered by Capitol stamp. All have appropriate labels to their respective original releases, except with modern copyrights and catalog numbers. Both The Association and Beau Brummels are the old gold WB style and Love is the goldish Big E label. All are in poly-lined sleeves.

For you analog purists, that means that they are possibly not from original master tapes. Anyway, that's not on any of the hype stickers.

    My two cents...
