Def Leppard "Pyromania". I was a young kid getting into hard rock. On Through The Night worked well. High 'n Dry hit the sweet spot. Pyromania blew up huge and I liked it.
I started getting into heavier music and anything they released after Pyromania made my stomach turn.:hurl:

I used to sing that to my daughter when she was in the tub: "Shiny Happy Baby."

why is it perplexing? not to me at all. I only like Syd era Floyd, everything after bores me to tears, ( I quite liked Meddle when I was 16 and very loaded), The Police became full of their own ego after the first two LPs, Bowie stopped writing great songs after Lets Dance. All quite logical to me.

Piper at the Gates of Dawn is the only Floyd album I love, the rest is cold, "sounds a bit old".... I think I'm more of a Syd fan than Floyd fan per se for that reason!

These may be subject to change but here's a few cut off pints that I haven't gone past for a good few years:

    Depeche Mode - Violator

    U2 - The Unforgettable Fire

Porcupine Tree - Fear of a Blank Planet (this includes Steven Wilson's solo career which has not grabbed me in the say way Porcupine Tree did :hide:)

Sinead O'Connor - The Lion and the Cobra

    King Crimson - Discipline

Stevie Wonder - Fulfillingness' First Finale

Pink Floyd - The Piper At The Gates of Dawn (I like scattered moments in their catalogue after this, but never been particularly excited by another full album like this one)

    David Bowie - Scary Monsters

Hurt Me is fantastic, and not too time consuming, like 17 songs in 30 minutes :).

I was always pretty firm about Linda Ronstadt's cut-offs on the cover of Silk Purse.
