It's one of those albums I guess I forgot about. I was thumbing through my cd's last night, and there it was, all brownish with black on the cover. I must have bought it around 20 years ago, and not sure if I ever played it (if I did, I don't remember). I have played it from beginning to end 3 times since yesterday. Neil Young collaborating with Pearl Jam, hmmm.....not sure I would come up with that mixture, but I think I'm starting to dig it. What do you think of Mirror Ball?

Great riff, good sounding recording. The bass clam at 3:08 indicates little or no surgery on the recording.

Not one of my favorites but a damn sight better than anything he's released in the past few years. I like Broken Arrow better

Not a bad album, but was kind of a let down for where my expectations were at when it was a new release. I used to have a live boot from the NY+PJ European tour around this time that I played more than the actual album.

Maybe I should revisit it as well, the problem is that I sold years ago after concluding it was disappointing and underwhelming.

This was the only song on it that stuck out to me; I couldn't tell you another song on it.

Not too bad but it made me miss CH. I wasn't a Pearl Jam fan when it came out and it didn't turn me into one. Too long, probably, with some pretty decent tracks in there: Song X, I'm The Ocean, Truth Be Known, What Happened Yesterday, Peace and Love, Scenery, Fallen Angel.

It's a decent enough album that gets some play in my car from time to time. The trouble is that when you think of the immense talent of artist and band, you come to expect something far more memorable than the actual result, in my opinion...

Far better than the BookerT collaboration as Neil wanted to rock & PJ did too!

A great, rocking album. Downtown is a infectious tune. I remember playing my guitar along to it and thinking, "WOW - this riff is killer!"

It was my first Neil Young album (bought it when it came out mainly because of PJ as I wasn't familiar at all with NY). I love it on this context. My first exposure to the electric/raw NY sound. As other have stated, there are better NY albums nonetheless.

Mirror Ball is decent but I prefer the companion EP Merkin Ball.

Love it, bought it on release and sold the CD along with all my others years ago. Actually bought it again on these forums just to have a copy and it's HDCD so my oppo103 likes it also !

Hey Vinyl Man Another bloody Yank down under...

I bought it when it came out, but like most of my collection from before 2004, it's in my parents' basement in Philadelphia. The only song I remember in any detail is "Downtown". I did like that one, but it's one of quite a few Neil Young albums of which I can only say that for one song.

I might like it better now if I had it handy to give a second chance to.

What brought me back to Mirror Ball was Scenery, a really good grungy jam.

Would have loved to see Neil play with PJ as his backup band.

Wow I totally forgot about that song. I always thought it was a cool song back in the day. I never got this album though. I should check it out when I can.
The last NY album I had gotten was the one before this one Sleeps With Angels which I thought was good.
