The one pictured has been photo shopped with what looks like a modern dancer in the middle. The episode seen here was aliens tricking the crew to land on alpha centauri and telling them it was a new out post and colony on the planet. The needed to harvest the youth to help the aliens grow up to adults, but at the end they were foiled![IMG] Now Will go fizz me a phosphate!<<<get a soft drink, lol:cool:

And how to forget those dreadful Playstation-like (the first one, of course) CGI.

  6. They tried that with the last movie they made. Good cast, lousy script.

I thought the 1998 film missed a big opportunity to give the older fans some emotional gravitas by not casting Mumy as the older Wil Robinson for the end of the 1998 movie. Maybe that was their intent and he said no, or was busy with B5. I enjoyed the film for what it was. It was a good retelling of the first three episodes to a certain degree. Especially with Dr. Smith as an adversary.

You may choose to remain in protective custody by not watching it. :)

    From Wikipedia:

Jonathan Harris, who played Dr. Smith in the series, declined an offer to cameo as a Global Sedition representative who deals with Dr. Smith in the film, declaring "I've never played a bit part in my life and I'm not going to start now!". Billy Mumy was likewise offered a cameo, but turned it down after being told he would not be considered for the part he wanted—the role of the older Will Robinson—because he was told that would "confuse the audience."

Confuse the audience? How about engage the audience with a performance they grew up with.

I haven't seen any version of Lost in Space. I just discovered in the post above mine that there is an animated series as well. I don't know anything about the story other than the obvious, a bunch of characters are, you know, lost in space. Anyway, I will definitely give this new series a shot when it hit Netflix, as I love me some good space opera.

Oh, yeah... Like there's a chance of that happening. pshaw.

No, I'll watch it. And then find a forum to bitch about how they ruined it. C'mon, it's 2017. The internet has been here for 30+ years now. You should know by now that there are protocols for this that must be followed.

This looks like it could be fun! Parker Posey as Doctor Smith is a stroke of genius.

I had no idea John Williams wrote the original opening theme.

He wrote 2 themes---the original used in the first 2 seasons and the 3rd season theme, which is better, IMO, and was the one covered for the 1998 LIS movie theme as well.

Can't tell too much from the trailer (which is good, I guess). I'm curious to see how they handle it, so I'm in!
