Mary MacGregor, not heard it since 1977! Even though it wasn't my usual style of music, I still remember the beautiful harmony in the song, very nice.

She sounded a lot like Olivia on that song (done it again!) so l liked it.

You'd never have got Olivia singing about having it away with two people in 1977.. She'd be hard pushed admitting to one!

Ah! Very good point....but SOMEHOW...there seems to be millions who seem to DENY this talented and generous man's existence..and he had such wonderful songs..Calypso..Rocky Mountain High...

He was a real talent and, rather oddly, a major success in Malaysia where some wits localised his "West Virginia" reference to "West Malaysia".

    Glenpwood Hyperactive!

Boyzone did change the most offensive line to "Oriential Sexy" in their remake but a couple of members made the unfortunate decision when performing it live to mock "Red Indian Boys" with their gestures. There was footage of it on Youtube a few years back from their reunion tour before Stephen passed...

I don't think I've heard New Edition played in at least 20 years. Of course the radio in the Vegas and St George markets could be a bit removed the much of the rest of the country as a major station KJUL will play a dozen Tom Jones tunes, several Wayne Newton songs, Dean Martin hits and several Al Stewart songs as well. Even heard them play a John Sebastian solo song that wasn't Welcome Back.

Speaking of Wayne Newton, how about a song that was a number one and never remembered in the first place: "The (Elvis) Letter." (It was a Cash Box #1 by payola rather than a legit hit song.)

Although not a Number One like the original release, a French version
released in 1965 in our other official language:

    "Ringo" - Lorne Greene.

As much as I like a few songs by these artists, it sounds like hell.

It was insultingly but understandably referenced as Biwwy Don't Be a Hewo in one of the rock magazines of the day
I agree that Who Do You Think You Are is pretty good. I haven't heard Heartbreak Kid.

I always liked the Blackeyed Boys but not any of the others.

I was wondering when someone would mention Calypso, which is my favourite John Denver song, followed by Rocky Mountain High. I kinda like Take Me Home Country Roads and Thank God I'm a Country Boy but could never tolerate Annie's Song or Sunshine on My Shoulder.

That must be the same song that Tony Kingston had on the B-side of his excellent (should have been number 1 everywhere!) but sadly mostly unknown '70s release Faith Hope and Charity, since both were written by the two Rogers, Cook and Greenaway. Both on YouTube, check them out! (actually I don't think I've ever listened to it!)

Good song, but (speaking of B-sides) the flip Getting to Know You is great!

Correct. I make goofs at times, but I think I can remember the title of the song I've heard dozens of times at Orioles games over the last few decades! :D

Too unhip for many but I love his wholesome image and passionate songs about nature and love. Refreshing in a decade where looking cool was everything. I'll take Rocky Mountain High over the entire output of the Sex Pistols.
