    Why?
Jethro Tull weren't formed until December 1967 and didn't release their first records until 1968.
    Hardly the Summer of Love.

The sub title of the cd set is The Ultimate Sixties Summer Anthems, the are many non 1967 tracks on it.

Really disappointed these kinds of releases aren't AAA. Why bother, really? (yeah, I know some hi-rez sourced vinyl can sound good)

My question was rhetorical. They bother because of $.

Sundazed has the Rascals "Groovin" album available. I don't own it but I'm eyeing it up.

The Sundazed issue is stereo. This new Rhino one is Mono.

I've got half a mind to request a moderator to change the title of this thread from Summer of Love to Summer of Mono Issues. I had wondered about all the references to the mono format but had underestimated the primacy of that criterion. :)

SHMF order of primacy (unofficial): DR>Vinyl>Mono>AAA>Music :p

Just you wait until we start talking about the program's reissue of Dusty in Memphis... a record that didn't come out in 1967 and isn't mono!!!

I've got the AP 45 in Stereo but it looks like this is indeed going to be a Mono offering.

I don't know what to make of that. I'm sure the thread about Dusty in Memphis would love to hear about it if they haven't already discussed it.

It has to be a fold-down. That record was very early 1969. There weren't many standard mono releases at that point in the US. I know discogs isn't the final word, but there is no listing of a mono release for that album. I'd be really surprised if the new Rhino reissue coming out in 2 weeks is in mono.

You may be correct, but there was a hi-res release of a mono Dusty In Memphis from 2014. Not sure if it was ever found to be a fold.

I bothered and they sound awesome on my stereo. Glad to finally have a mono copy of Love. The Young Rascals Groovin' was not an album I knew. Glad I discovered it on this beautiful pressing.

It took me almost 5 years to prove it actually existed and another 10 years to find one.

  21. The Grateful Dead studio comp sounds amazing. Better than the songs on the original albums.

The cover however is wrong as it's too poppy summer of love like where it should have been a more San Francisco psychedelic style.

Good to hear of the sound quality on the Grateful Dead. Did you get the cd or the lp?

  23. All LPs for the summer series.

Finally got The Young Rascals Groovin' in today's mail.

It's of the same caliber and stock as the others in the series. Same hype stickers as in Mazzy's picture. Tip-on jacket. Mastered by Ian Sefchick. Pressed at Record Industry. Period correct labels.

I'm willing to bet that most of this Summer of Love series will be the same way.. mostly tip-on jackets.. mastered by Sefchick and pressed at Record Industry. Excepting Astral Weeks and maybe Dusty in Memphis since those have been released before.

If anyone is wondering, the four Aoxomoxoa tracks are the 1971 remixes.
